Louisiana fires off another email, a letter to her friend in Prescott, Arizona.

Dear Wyndi Storm~
Hey! How are you doing? How is Karla feeling today? I was sorry to learn that she was sick; hopefully, she is doing much better now. We are all well, thanks for asking! We had a lovely Christmas, and I am glad that you had a nice one as well. My Christmas was especially memorable, ever since work surprised me and my family with a FREE Alaskan cruise (TWO weeks yet!!)! I did NOT expect that AT all!! I was STUNNED, to put it mildly!
We were originally going to go to Alaska this year anyway, to celebrate the adoptions of Janica, Arjun, and Rani, but then the hurricanes happened, and so I gave the money we had saved up for our ORIGINAL Alaskan cruise for relief efforts for the storm victims. We were going to go next year instead, but now it looks like we will have our cruise AFTER all! As you can imagine, I am excited at the thought of spending two weeks at sea with my family, on a huge ship, and getting spoiled and pampered like royalty!! :) This is going to be a wonderful trip--that is, WHEN we decide to go!! :)
Oh, how sad that you lost an uncle to muscular dystrophy! How old was he, and when did he die? I bet it WAS hard to see a once-healthy individual going from being able to do all things to a man who is in need of help and a man who is either in a wheelchair or in bed. I know it is hard for me whenever I see Johnny getting weaker and weaker, but Johnny is a very strong, courageous young man who has already beaten the odds by EIGHT years. He wasn't expected to live beyond the age of five; now he has just turned thirteen, and he still can walk for short trips on crutches; but it wears him out. So he would rather go by wheelchair. It IS scary to a child to see a loved one being so sick or having an incurable disease, but in the end, it teaches the child about life, that life is NOT ALL kind and cheery, and people have to go through terrible things; but if they have the faith (and the willpower), they can make it through whatever God may throw at them! God doesn't like to see people hurting or being sick any more than WE do, but there is a reason for people's suffering, and until we get to Heaven, the answer will remain an enigma to us until God reveals it. This is where hope and faith have a role in our lives, and it is up to us to accept (or reject) it.
Nashville, Tennessee is a big city (over 100,000 people strong!!), but it is also small enough to where we know a lot of people, and she is a city full of friendly, hardworking people who strive to make their city a mecca for tourists (particualarly music fans) or musicians who are looking for a lucky break in the oft-cut-throat world of entertainment. There is much to do here, and yes, the people DO and CAN drive like idiots; but they do that ALL OVER! LOL But I DO manage to watch myself when I am on the road, and I make sure my family does the same!! It is a lot smaller than places like New Orleans, Lousisiana (prior to Katrina, that is!), Houston, Texas, Dallas, Texas, L.A., or New York City!! Compared to these metropolis areas, Nashville is a VILLAGE! LOL I still love Nashville: the weather is seasonable here (not too hot in the summer, and not TOO cold in the winter, plus we have spectacular springs and falls here), and the weather is as varied as her people. I also love the rolling hills that surround our city, and I love the fact that we can find things to do on just about any given night of the year. Nashville is very family-friendly, and her people will bend over backwards to ensure that whoever comes here remembers his/her trip for the rest of their lives!
How is the weather there? Here it is sunny, and cool, but I am still worried about those people in Texas. They are still in the grips of a severe drought and fire danger, and it doesn't look like there's any relief for them soon. I hope and pray they get the desperate rains that they need!! And what with the mess in West Virginia and the anger those poor coal miners' families/relatives must be feeling today...oh, ye' yaie!! If that had been me, I would have been FURIOUS beyond compare, and I would be DEMANDING some answers--NOW!! And now with Israel's Prime Minister, Isaac Sharon (I THINK that is his name) fighting for his life after a massive stroke/brain surgery, and the people in Israel uncertain about what will happen next, and the rescue attempts of a trapped painter in Georgia who got caught in a water tower...oh, ye' yaie, such goings-on in our world today! And of course, you got the usual car bombing reports from Iraq, and the bloodshed elsewhere, and just the whole world going amok....Lord, help us now!! I hope and pray that the weather there is nice, like it is here! (Sorry about that: I started writing about the weather, and I went off on a tangent. I do that a lot---LOL Forgive me??)
Well, dear Wyndi, I know this isn't really much of a letter, but I am TIRED. I have already done five loads of laundry, and I still have at LEAST three more to do before the kiddies get back from school. I will write more later. Take care, and God bless you and Karla always!
