Dear Journal~
How do you like this, this pink font? I think it is cool, especially since PINK so happens to be one of my fave colors! :)
I am doing very well; am TRYING to walk withOUT my crutches, and it is NOT easy! I have been toolin' around with just a cane, and after years of using my crutches, it is a huge step forward for me; but I am still not that steady on my feet yet. I have this great fear of falling and messing up the works that the doctors did to fix my hips and my knees. Now, I still wear the brace on my bad leg (the one I had hurt in the accident when I was small), and I still can't bend my leg, but I still can walk, and I am trying to wean myself off my sticks. It is dificult, but I know I will succeed because I am just full of determination! :)
My asthma is under control, and I haven't had a flare up of my JRA in AGES, it seems, and life is GOOD! :) School is going well, and I have been keeping up on all my assignments, and I still have my circle of friends. I also am busy with church business, and my family is still the most important people in my life. I also have been busy with my singing, and a few weeks ago, I tried out for "American Idol" (AGAIN!!). It was in Atlanta, Georgia, and I had a BALL! But I did NOT make it. My age was the deciding factor. You have to be at LEAST 16 to qualify: I am only 13, but I still wanted to try out. I did quite well, and Paula, Simon, and Randy DID like my singing; but they all had to say the BIG N-O because I am technically too young. I know I am probably being stupid and all, but I just LOVE to sing, and I am ready to become a STAR!! :) I have the drive to succeed, and I just LOVE making people happy with what I do!! :)
One bit of bad news to report, though: my friend, Nicole Aldape, and I are no longer pals. She has totally left me, and I am a bit sad about that because she and I were tight for nearly six years, and now she is hanging with another group of girls. Maybe I was too pushy or SOMETHING, I don't know; but Nicole wanted someone else to pal with. I wish I knew what went wrong with our friendship because Nicole was a very nice girl, and I loved hanging with her. I also didn't feel so alone because she has the same thing as me, and when we were sick, we always supported one another somehow. All is not lost, however: I have a new best friend in Kenya Johnson, and she is in my class at school. She is fairly new, and she likes a lot of the same things I do, even LORETTA LYNN! :) So she can't be ALL bad! :) LOL
I have been watching the "American Idol" tryouts ever since it started on tv last week, and they have had some terrific people already (Lisa Tucker, Kelly Pickler, etc.), but they also had some really baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad people on there. There was this one woman last night in North Carolina (Fantasia Barrino's home state, also Clay Aiken, who lost to Ruben Studdard three years back) named Rhonetta who had a bad attitude--and an even worse singing voice. Now, I am no expert, but I know good singing when I hear it, and I am sorry, but Rhonetta could NOT sing. PERIOD. She was way out of tune, and she had a killer attitude. She also dressed nasty, and even when the auditions were over for her, she kept badmouthing Simon, Randy, and Paula. She was NOT cool, and I could NOT believe some of the language (bleeped, thank goodness, but STILL, you can imagine what she was probably saying!!) coming from her mouth! All my maman and I could do was just sit there, openmouthed. It was really something to see, let alone, HEAR!! Geez a mighty!! I just wonder who is going to be the new "Idol" come the finals! Maybe it will be another country singer! Carrie Underwood won it last year, and she is a country diva in the making! She is terrific! :) I just love her; she reminds me a lot of Faith Hill, another one of my favorites! :) (Of course, not NEARLY as much as LORETTA, but I still love Carrie and Faith!! :) )

Ronee is headed for stardom! She is stage material! This says alot about motor abilities. For those of us who can walk without the aid of support devices should be very thankful. Thanks for the letter today, Karen Lynn.
