Bart Simpson in Ohio writes back to his friend in Tennessee after she has written to him.

Friday, February 10, 2006 (the Start of the Olympics Day!!)~

Dear Friend Louisiana~

I was so happy to hear from you. I am sorry that your son, Arjun, is in the hospital. Hopefully by now he is feeling MUCH better. I have been keeping him in my prayers at night!

I am doing better today. I took some time off work because I have been so tired, and I know it is detrimental to my health and well being. So I am staying home the weekend, where I am going to enjoy the company of my boys. I know they have missed me, and besides, my neighbor needs a break! It will also keep my mind off of Annie and her death; I have been doing too much crying, and I think it is high time that I get my life back in order. I need to be there for my boys, and I need to be strong for them.

I guess I shared some of my snow with you, eh? LOL So it is snowing there in Nashville. I hope you are careful when you leave for or go home from work, and I hope that your kids are careful, too. I don't know if your husband is still working, but in case HE is, I hope he takes it easy, too.

Today is the start of the Winter Olympics in Torino, Italy. My eldest child has been talking about it, and he is looking forward to watching it on tv with his brothers. Jack and Jeremiah may not remember the last Olympics, but Kenny sure does. His favorite sport to watch is the bobsledding and the skiing. He loves to ski whenever we go to Snow Trails Ski Resort (yes, there's a ski resort here; it's not big, but it brings a lot of skiing enthusiasts from all over the country, and it is good for our area of the country), and he skis down the big hill like an Olympic champion in the making. He is very good at skiing; he has skied since he was but a small child, and he loves schussing down the hill! I love to ski too, but Kenny is much better at it than I will EVER be!

Annie loved to ski, too, but then she got sick, and--well, you know. I sure do miss having her company, and I know the boys miss their mother very much. They still ask when she is coming home, and they ask if she is ever coming back, and that always breaks my heart! They still don't fully understand the concept of death (particularly Jack and Jeremiah), but Kenny knows of death, and it makes him sad whenever he thinks of his mother. He still misses her terribly.

Louie, where on EARTH did you get that picture?? That is so cute! I loved the animation! You always put the most interesting pictures on your emails, and they compliment your writing style perfectly! In fact, you ought to give up nursing and make writing your full-time career; you are really good at it! :)

Well, Kenny is calling me; I will see what he wants. Take care, dear friend, and thanks again for the prayers! I will, in the meantime, be praying for Arjun's recovery! Hope it all goes well for him while he is in the hospital!

Well, as they say in Torino, Ciao! Write back to me soon; I will try to do the same! Enjoy the Olympics if you watch them!

Love, your friend in Ohio, Bartholomew (BART) Simpson. (Yes, that is my given name, and I HATE it! Now you know why I go by BART! LOL)

I echo Karla here, Karen. This is perfect. Everytime I read one of your stories, I get a renewed attitude towards what I must accomplish. You think I am brave for sharing my no holds barred life. Well, let me tell you my dearest sister, that yes, I share my no holds barred life, but I am still sad and terrified, because after years of abuse, I am finally coming out of my cocoon. When the cocoon is finally opened all the way, this butterfly will be beautiful. But I feel that people should know what it is like to be different. You know. But others don't and most just don't care. This is why I share my no holds barred life. A life of misery, abuse, fear, terror, isolation, desolation, and whatever else you may put there.

"That's life, that's what all the people say, you're riding high in April, shot down in May." This song has been done by so many, but these words are so true too. I was riding high, then my mother shot me down. I was so terrified then, because I had been abandoned by the one I thought should have been there for me, and loved me no matter what. But she wasn't and didn't.But, because of friends like you and Karla, whom I consider my sisters, I have found renewed strength and attitude to be the best darn woman I can be, considering the circumstances. Thnx a bunc sis, for your pure heart, and accepting me as I am. May the Lord Jesus bless you, and those whom you love, and be with you always, and at your side constantly. With much love in my heart, joy to the world, peace on earth, & ((((((((((MANY WONDERFUL SISTERLY HUGGGGSSSS)))))))))), your little sister, Barbie

"If I have to be this girl in me, Then I have the right to be."

H U G S and a very happy St. Valentine's Day.
