Louisiana figures she will write a response to a friend in Georgia before the family arises for the day. Sunday is always a very busy day for the Sandusky crew. (They go to breakfast and then to church afterwards, and sometimes out to lunch, too.)

Dear Donna Sue~
I am sorry for not responding to your letter sooner, but you know how it is with my working full time and raising a Super Family. Not much free time AT all! (Sighhhh--but I love it! :) )
I have been busy working: seems that I have been pulling in more hours lately, and I am TIRED! I am flat-out EXHAUSTED! (I am off for a few days, so I have finally had a LITTLE time to relax! Ahhhh!) I have also enjoyed being with my family.
I am glad that things for your family are going smoothly. My family is doing well; Arjun is about recovered from his recent illness, and he is getting stronger by the day. He is nearly back to his old self again, but he gets winded if he does too much. He still wears the oxygen at night, but he hasn't had any more problems since leaving the hospital.
It is 3:41 in the morning as I write this on my computer: I figured I'd get some of my e-mails answered before the family wakes up. We then have to break our necks to try to get ready before we leave the house at seven for breakfast (this morning it's Fire Mountain) and then be at Christ Community Assembly of God by eight thirty. (The first morning services start at nine-thirty, the second one starts at 11:30. We also have a third service, this time in the evening, at 6. Sunday is our big church day.)
I tend to do a lot of my writing at night, after the kids (and my folks) are in bed for the night. I am a night owl it seems. I am lucky if I get five hours a night of sleep; I am used to running on kinetic energy. I am just a little ball of Cajun Fire! LOL
How is Bethlehem doing in her rehab? Has she been home yet? If not, when IS she returning home? I bet you all miss her terribly! Tell her that we are still praying for her and we wish her a speedy recovery!
In reference to your question about the Olympics, no, we haven't been to the Olympics, but I have friends who HAVE. One of my nurses and his wife went to the Sydney Games back in 2000 (Summer Olympics), and they went to the Winter Games in Salt Lake City in 2002. I also have friends from Finland who went to the Summer Games in Athens, Greece, two years back and they just got back from the Torino Winter Games last week. They had a wonderful time, but they are both tired, and they sare still getting over their jet lag. (Sari and Nikolas worked at both of these Olympics. They worked in the athlete's village.)
I would like to go to an Olympics event; but it would be too much of a hassle. It would also wipe out our life savings--unless we get "group-rate". It would still cost us a pretty penny if we ALL went! It was quite expensive when we went on our Alaskan cruise almost two years ago--and that was only for four people (two kids, two adults). Now this year the whole GANG is going to Alaska and the ONLY reason we are going is because it was FREE. (I like "free"; I can handle that---*grins*) We are going to Alaska in October, and we canNOT wait!
That's okay if you were rootin' for the Steelers. They ARE a good team; and they deserved to win the Super Bowl! I stayed home, but my husband and kids went to the church, where they had a Super Bowl party after the night service; they didn't get home until nearly 10. They had a wonderful time, but they were disappointed that Seattle lost to the Steelers.
You were asking me what teams I like in pro football. No question: da New Awlin's Saints (affectionately called "the 'Aints" when they have a bad season; seems that they have had a string of those lately). I also love the Dallas Cowboys, but they haven't really done too well since Bill Parcells took over as coach. (Bring back Jimmy Johnson! :) )
We have had some snow recently. The last storm we had dumped eight inches, but it is about gone now. We also had an ice storm last week, and my husband fell and injured his back. He is doing somewhat better, but he is still hobbling around like an old man on his crutches! He is very careful on how he moves, and he is off work now (medical leave) until his back recovers. He is enjoying his time off, but he is starting to miss work! LOL Imagine THAT if you will! LOL
Poor Bill has had many years of back pain. He HAS had surgery (TWICE), but it's only been partially successful. He has degenerative arthritis and sciatica, and so the scar tissue on his back presses on the nerve; there is really nothing anyone can do aside from a Miracle or something. Sure, medicine HAS come a long way; but Bill is stubborn. He always has been. He won't go for help unless it is absolutely necessary. (In other words, he is a "typical" male! LOL)
Who knows? Maybe he could go to the doctor and have him help his back; maybe there is a radical new surgery on the horizon that would put an end to his misery once and for all. I recently had back surgery almost a year ago, and it has been a year of PURE BLISS! No pain whatsoever, and I am able to pick up and hold my children again, seomthing I was denied when I had all my back troubles! I was also hobbling around on a cane or crutches, but now I don't need those NO MO'! *grins* Heck, I am even DANCING! :) (I can cut a MEAN Cajun two-step, and I can waltz until the cows come home! :) )
Well, Donna, now you know what's up with me. I will write again soon when I hear from you. Sorry for not writing sooner! Take care, and God bless you always!
(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tennessee, Louie Mayrah. :D (Don't ya just LUV my middle name?? *grins* That sounds so country! LOL)
Late night or early morning is a good time to write when it's quiet and everyone is sleeping. Thoughts come easy at these hours. This letter is packed from A to Z with Arjun, Alaska to the Z in horizon. Great letter today Karen Lynn, and thanks for it!
