Donna Oliver writes to her friend in Tennessee after receiving an e-mail from her the other day.

Dear Louisiana May~
Hi! This is your Georgia friend in Smyrna writing! Thanks so much for your letter; I was starting to wonder if you even CARED enough to write back! I am happy that your family is okay. but I was sorry to hear of Bill's back troubles! I do hope that he is feeling better by the time you receive this in your in-box!
Behtlehem has one more week to go at rehab; then she will be home for GOOD. She is now walking on artificial legs, and she is doing GREAT, according to her therapists, the nurses, and the doctor. We can't WAIT for her to come home; we have missed her terribly! Who ever thought that something as simple as a tiny cut on her ankle could turn into something so awful??
Since her illness, I have been reading up on this "necrotizing fasciitis", or flesh-eating disease. I was surprised at just how many people come down with it. I am now reading a book by a lady named Donna Batdorff or something like that, and it is compelling reading. I did read a book, "Miracle Survivor Over The Flesh-Eating Bacteria" by David and Delys Cowles, and it was very uplifting yet interesting at the same itme. He had it on his leg, his side, and one arm, and for a while he was on crutches (or using a wheelchair), but now he is walking just fine, and he is living a full, happy life!
I have heard many horror stories regarding this disease; as a nurse, I am sure that you are familiar with it and/or have run across a case of it or two. How do you HANDLE such horror, such physical carnage? If I ever have to see it again, I think I would get sick! The smell was absolutely unbelievable, and poor Bethlehem was suffering so much it nearly broke my heart in two! There was also the danger of her dying, and the first month and a half was the worst time in my life! I don't think I will EVER stop having nightmares about this "flesh-eating bug"! *cringe*
The weather here is mild, temps in the sixties. Has it warmed up any there? I bet the snow has melted by now! I hope it is nice there in Music City, U.S.A.!
Nashville, Tennessee, muct be a neat place upon which to live. The home of the Country Music Hall Of Fame, the Grand Ol' Opry, Music Row, Fisk University, Vanderbilt University, and other fine learning institutions, and the replica of the Parthenon---I would't mind going there myself for a visit! I would LOVE going to the Grand Ole Opry! I bet you have been there a MILLION times at least! LOL
I also bet that you have been to Loretta Lynn's home in Hurricane Mills, up the road a piece from you. That would REALLY be somethiing to see! I love Loretta Lynn myeslf! :)
Louie, where on EARTH did you find such an aDORable picture of that sleepy kitty? That was one of the CUTEST things I have EVER seen! You seem to find the most interesting pictures to accompany your letters; they give it a certain charm that I find irresistable! I am still learning how to use the computer, it's still quite a daunting task at times! LOL
I still think it is wonderful that your family is going on that Alaskan cruise! I wish I could pack myself up in a suitcase and join you! LOL That sounds like fun, but WHY Alaska? I'd MUCH rather go to a place like Cozumel or Playa del Carmen in Mexico, or maybe Apapulco! LOL I am a warm weather person; I don't DO cold weather here very well! LOL
Well, I am going back to bed; it's just too DARNED EARLY for me! LOL If I get up after seven, I am good for the rest of the day; beforehand, FORGEDDABOUDIT. LOL I am a version of the Walking Living Dead! LOL Take care, and God bless you and your family always! You deserve each and every blessing He bestows on y'all! :)
