Dear Ellen Jones,
I was weeding through some of my older emails that I hadn't respnded to (seems that I have fallen behind somehow; I am a terrible letter writer!), and I came across yours. I am sorry if I haven't written to you in so long; please do forgive me. If you don't even want to bother, I can fully understand.
I was wondering how you have been doing since the fire. Are you living in a new place? How are the two of you coping? Is there anything you need? How are you doing for clothing or food?
How are Wayne and you doing emotionally? Are you talking to someone about the experiences you have had? I am worried about you two!
We are okay on this end; the family continues to grow, and the kids continue to keep us hoppin'. Our youngest, Arjun, is now nearing the age of two, and our oldest, Lightning, is expecting her seventh child; she is pregnant. So another Sandusky grandchild will be arriving within the next year. :)
I am sitting here, trying to wake up. I have to work at six; I work today from six to two (but I have had to work as long as six on some days, and I have also had to do some double shifts, which about KILLS me). I do enjoy my job, though; I love taking care of people and give them a little hope when they are sick or weak. I know that a lot of them appreciate my taking care of them in their time of need! That is probably the thing that gives me the most satisfaction at my job! :)
I also have to get the kids' breakfasts ready (and breakfast ready for my hubby), and get their morning meds ready. That is one reason why I get up so danged early. (This morning, I woke up at three thirty.)
We are still busy with church, and I am still busy with the adoption community and helping outher couples with the adoption process. Just yesterday I heard from a man in his sixties who lives in Bellingham, Washington, who read one of my books, and he wanted to ask some questions about my family (which I do not mind answering once I get to respond to his letter!). He and his second wife (his first wife died) adopted four children to add to the three children they already have; so now they have seven kids total!
I do hope that you and Wayne find joy in your life soon. Life is too precious to be sad all of the time; there are so many good people in the world, and there are so many things out there to enjoy! God has created a beautiful world, and His handiworks are all around us if you just take the time to enjoy them. He is always there, even though you can't see Him in the physical sense, and if you ever need a Friend to talk to, God is YOUR Man. :) He will never leave you, and He is as real as the sun, the stars, and the moon! :)
God has been so good to us, and this is why I am willing to share the gospel with others, even if they choose not to believe (that IS their right). I am so happy with God and my love for Him that I feel I have to share it with the world! :) That is why my letters are often so "spiritual" because I am just BURSTNG with the Joy of the Lord! :) I hope you understand that joy! :)
Well, I will go for now; I hear stirrings from down the hall. I think Jodie is starting to cry; she must be waking up. I will have to tend to her. Take care, Ellen, and if you ever need someone to talk to, I will most certainly be happy to do it! God bless you, and God bless Wayne!

Almighty God hung the the Great Lights, the Sun, the Moon, and the Stars in the night skies, to illuminate our paths for us in life, physically and spiritually Karen !
I am so glad and pleased that our collective prayers have been answered affirmatively by the Creator, in that you and Karla, now have new jobs at Fire Mountain as hostesses, and indeed it is part time....just wonderful news...now you's will get some much needed and welcome respite !
