Ronee', sick with a flare, writes in her journal before trying to go back to sleep. She is not going to school today because she has an upset stomach, a headache, and is in a lot of pain; she is generally feeling lousy.

Friday, March 10, 2006, 6:24 a.m., C.S.T.~

Dear Journal~

I am not doing too good this morning. I haven't slept more than three hours last night (thanks to storms that traversed the area; we were under severe weather threats), and my body is not helping. Seems that I have a flare going on, so I am not going to school today. My tummy is upset big time, and my ankles, wrists, elbows, shoulders, and back are sounding off. I also have a killer headache, and it is such a chore to try to type in here; so this will probably be short.

Well, it is official: Nicole and I no longer see each other. I am bummed out about that because I am STILL trying to figure out what went wrong in our friendship. She was always there for me when I needed her (and I for her); now it's like she has DISAPPEARED, and it is stressing me out BIG time!

I am still waiting to see if my book will be published. I did a second book about living life every day with a chronic illness, and sent in the manuscript last month. I hope that my new book will be accepted for publication; if so, then I will have TWO books under my belt! My mom just found out that HER fourth book has been accepted for publication, so she is happy about that. I am too, frankly.

Daddy is about all healed from his fall. He will be going back to work on Monday. He is looking forward to it; he really loves working at Wal*Mart!

At least daddy is doing better than ME. I feel so bad, and it has been a good while since I had a really good FLARE; I forgot just how bad they can make one feel! *OW* Well, at least I can't complain about my hips OR my knees any longer; they are the only things on me that DON'T hurt!

Well, winter is overwith and dying. Soon it will be spring. No need to tell ME that, what with the wild and wooly weather we experienced last night! *SHEESH!* I heard the tornado sirens go off; thought we were going to get one, but to my knowledge we DIDN'T (thank GOD!). Still, it WAS banging out there pretty good, and so was my body. *OW*

I started reading a new book that I got the other day at Wal*Mart, "Just Peace" by Mattie J.T. Stepanek and co-written with Jimmy Carter (he was a former President of our nation), and it is really moving stuff! I got to meet Mattie several years ago (thanks to Johnny; we went to a telethon, and he happened to be there), and he was a very likeable, personable young man who EXUDED courage! He was on a ventilator and used an electric wheelchair, but he lived life to the fullest, and he touched the world with his moving volumes of poetry and self-introspective essays. For such a young person, he sure was quite intelligent, and he touched people in so many ways! He had something called dysautomonic mitrochondrial myopathy, which is a very rare form of muscular dystrophy that can have very deadly consequences, particularly if you're a child and you happen to be born with it. I have read his poetry books before, and he was absolutely INCREDIBLE!!

Well, I am going to see if I can TRY to get some sleep..uh, oh...I think I gotta' barf--feel like it. ICK! I absolutely HATE to throw up; let me grab my canes! Gotta' go! 'Bye!

~Ronee' Le-Anne (and SICK at that! *Boo, hiss*). :(

That young man Mattie Stepenek sure was an inspiration to us all Karen
If a young man like that, with such a heavy cross to bear, can display such valor and courage in his daily life, then so can we, with the Grace of God !
It sounds like Ronee could do with a much needed sabbatical !
Love and Blessings
