Dear Journal~
I am writing in here for the second time today. I took a two-hour nap earlier, and I now feel refreshed. It is amazing what just a little extra sleep can do to revive the spirit---
Earlier, I mentioned that Ronee' had a sinus infection. She does NOT have one. She just slept so much yesterday (due to her arthritis flaring up) that when she woke up, she was swollen. It looked like someone punched her in the nose nad in the face, and her eyes were swollen, too. REALLY charming, if you ask me! LOL Ronee' is feeling SOMEWHAT better today, but she may not go to church tomorrow if she is still hurting. That way, she can get more in the way of rest, which will be very beneficial to her.
I also mentioned of Johnny's troubles with his disease (Duchenne's muscular dystorphy) getting worse. He is having more in the way of weakness in his muscles, he has to be turned over every two hours (so he doesn't get bedsores), he has to be catheterized every two to four hours, and he has to be suctioned out if he starts to have more difficulty in his breathing. I am going to talk to his doctor at the MDA clinic, to see what is up with Johnny and his disease, and see if there is anything that can be done to stop the progression somewhat. I HATE worrying about Johnny's health like this and what is going to happen to him in the future!!
I wrote to my friend in Anchorage, Alaska, earlier this morning (VERY early, in fact!); Jenna Aurora Doucet is progressing well in her pregnancy (her first), and she and Michael (her husband) are really looking forward to their first child. She is doing quite well for herself, and she has mentioned that she and her husband are now going to church and have accepted Jesus Christ into their lives. I am so happy for them! :) It is something that I have been praying for a long time; it is good to see God's goodness in action! :)
On Friday, our city will be throwing their annual celebration for St Patrick's Day. We will all be wearing green (no doubt!), and we plan on sampling some Irish fare and going to the big St. Patrick's Day parade. We should have a good time. It will be a good way to forget of our world's troubles (or our OWN troubles, as a matter of fact!) for a while at least! They will have a huge Irish style buffet dinner, and there will be Irish music and dancing for all the celebrants to enjoy.
The weather was kind of wild earlier today (but I slept through it, miracle of miracles! I didn't hear a THING!), but there are twigs and branches all over our yard, and there are some loose shingle paneling lying on the ground. Thank GOD our power didn't go out, but I am sure that the kids were wigging out over the heavy rain, lightning, and thunder! I am slso sure that the tornado sirens went off, but I don't remember! LOL Guess I was TIRED!! :)
Well, this isn't much, but I am going to sign off and get the gang in bed early tonight (if mama doesn't sleep, NOBODY sleeps! LOL). We will be up at oh-dark-thirty tomorrow; we will be out of the house BY seven fiteen (and at Fire Mountain) IF we are lucky! We will then go to our church and enjoy a morning of worship and time with the Lord, which is always wonderful! :) I will write in here again later; take care, and God bless!
You know the aches and pains everybody endures as you have done, First hand experience is the greatest teacher in which we can empathize with others having gone through it ourselves. Though I am Iriish and my parents came from Ireland, I do not like cornbeef and cabbage and never could eat it when my mother put it on my plate. But I enjoy and have danced at an Irish fesh with jigs and reels and a hornpipe thrown in. My mother sent me to an Irish tap dancer instructor where I learned all the Irish dances, Happy St. Patrick's day in advance.
You have been revitilised by that dynamic power nap Karen, and I am sure that you will thoroughly enjoy St Patricks Day next Friday, it is
always something else...I just love the Irish Folk music and dancing, they sure know how to enjoy themselves for sure !
And yes..it is amazing what it means to accept Our Lord Jesus Christ into your heart, then you really begin to live...:)
