Louisiana Sandusky writes to her friend in Soulsbysville, California. Her heart is burdened with worry over her son, Johnny, who will be having tests at the muscular dystrophy clinic. She pours her heart out to her friend, asking for prayer and support during this difficult time.

Wednesday, March 15, 2006, 6:21 a.m., C.S.T., Nashville, Tennessee~

Dear Kendra Mae~

I know I just wrote to you, but I need your prayers now, more than ever.

Today, I am taking my son, Johnathon, to the muscular dystrophy clinic, where he will be having some tests done, to see if his disease is getting worse (in which I think it is). He has been having more in the way of weakness in his muscles, his breathing is starting to become affected, and is becoming more dependent on us to care for him (particularly at night, when he is in bed). In addition, he has to be cathterized every four hours, as he can't get out of his bed without help.

I know that in time, people with muscular dystrophy can (and do) get worse, but when it is your child, it's as though your world has turned upside down. You can't help but to worry your head off!

Kendra, I have been crying more these past few days than I have in a very long time. I am trying to be brave for Johnny, but I look at him, I look at his thin, wasted body, and I can't help but to cry. I see that he is having more trouble. He really doesn't understand the seriousness of his disease (at least, I don't think he does), but I see it, and it is tearing me up inside. Johnny is only a child of thirteen; he should not be worrying about death! He should be playing with his friends, and he should be enjoying life! It just doesn't make any sense whatsoever!!

I am sure that Bill and the chidlren see the worry on my face, and I am sure that they see Johnny's health woes too. This hasn't been easy on any of them, and they are as scared (for Johnny's future) as I am. I am trying to make sense of all of this, but I just don't feel like praying. It's like God has forgotten about us, and it's like our prayers are going unanswered! I feel like Satan is trying to rip our family apart, and at times I think he is succeeding!

Bill is up with Johnny now (he is helping him get ready), and the house is strangely subdued this morning. The kids aren't talking much, and all they can do is sit there, with looks of worry on their young faces. I will probably be at the MDA clinic all day while Johnny has his tests; I don't know when I'll be home. (I took today off from work because of Johnny's appointment, and depending on the outcome, I probably won't go to work tomorrow, either.)

I will most certainly let you know the results as soon as I find out anything. I will either write to you or call you; either way, once I find out, you will lear from me.

I hear that Rebekkah Cohen isn't doing that well either. She has been the hospital with an infection; there is fear that she may end up losing her leg. Oh, ye' yaie, such troubles! I don't know how people can cope in difficult times like these! I am so tired of worrying, I am so tired of crying, I am so tired of being tired. I will be praying hard for her, even though right now, I don't feel like praying.

Well, Bill is calling me, so I will let you go now. I will be keeping in touch with you regarding Johnny's situation. Take care, and God bless! Just be praying extra hard today for us! Today is going to be a hard day for all of us!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tennessee, Louie Mayrah (Johnny's mama). :( >tears<

P.S.: Be praying especially hard for Johnny!!

~Louie.

This is so hard to read, when it is a child that is ill, but I am sure there is a powerful prayer chain for these children...great writing Karen

Faith can move mountains Karen, and prayer is the only credible possibility that Johnny, Ronee and Rebekkah have in the forseeable future !
The main priority is that you and Bill don't wear yourselves out with
all this worry, fatigue and exhaustion, otherwise you won't be any good to your other 51 fostered children, my God !
Love and Blessings
