Wow, Louisiana~
I have seen you angry before, but this time takes the cake! I can duly understand your concerns about the illegal immigrant issues, but I don't think they should be here, PERIOD. I still say the best solution is to seal the borders!
No, I don't think you are in the wrong for wanting to give needy chidlren a safe haven or a home. I still think that you are a very good person. You are just having a hard time understanding how our country has gotten to the point to where it has (I know one thing how it has: shoddy government; throw 'em all out of office and let US choose the pepole we want to run our land!!).
I don't like it any better than you do, but I do know this: personally, I can't stand President Bush. I never have, never will. He has divided our nation, and we are quickly becoming the Divided States of America, particularly on issues like illegal immigration, religious freedom,and the war in Iraq.
But enough poli"tickling" for now--this is a letter, not a political view (besides, I had best shut up before I hack some people off!)..
So other than that, how are you doing? Seems that you are doing well. I hope that the weather doesn't turn frigthful for y'all down there. They sure had some whizbangers in Oklahoma and Texas, didn't they? WOW! I am glad I live ehre in Alaska; here, we don't have to worry about things like tornadoes or thunderstorms! (Not that I could hear the thunder anyway....LOL I bet I could sleep right through a tornado and not know anything about it until I wake up the next day! LOL)
You are so right: we ARE ready for spring. I am Inuk, yes, but I do like the flowers and the greening up of the tundra when spring comes. Right now, the calendar says "spring", but the weather outside says "winter". Still have snow on the ground, and temps in the teens to twenty-degree range. Not very springlike if you ask me.
Louie, if I were you, I would be contacting your adoption lawyers about getting Janica, Arjun, and Rani their citizenship, and the sooner you do it, the better it will be for them--and for you. Please do this soon without delay!! Just a thought is all---
I have told my friends Kirk and Uma about you; they may be contacting you before too long. So don't be surprised to get a leter from the Tullaqs soon! As I told you yesterday, they are in the process of adopting a child, and they may have questions. I have known Uma for years (since I was amall), and I first met Kirk when she started going with him; now they are husband and wife, and they are very good for one another even though he is a Dog Child. *grins* (We call non-Inuit people "Dog Children" or "naluagmi") Please don't take this as any offense, Louie, but we Inuit have always viewed non-Inuit people as ugly.)
I am going to go now; time for this tired Inuk to go to bed. I have been up nearly all night; Michael seems to have caught a bug, and he has been throwing up. He finally drifted off to sleep, but I am sure he feels horrid. I just hope he doesn't give it to ME; it would not be good for me OR the babe I am carrying inside of my belly! Say a prayer for us; thanks!

I like the honesty shared between mutually respecting friends here, Karen. It's healthy and soul-expanding as well as character-building and relationship-forging. Jaw-jaw better than war-war and all that. Differences have to be talked about to be understood and appreciated. As always, touching, moving, informative and "personal".
