Dear Journal~
I am doing much better since my last journal entry. I am sorry for being such a pain, but lately my life hasn't been very joyful or worth writing about. I have been having more problems with my MD, and my girlfriend in California recently got out of the hospital, where she is recovering from an amputation (her leg). I have been very depressed lately, and it has been a struggle just to try to keep a positive attitude.
One reason why I am happier now is because in a few weeks I will get to see Rebekkah Cohen. That is right: she is coming to Tennessee to visit our family, and I will finally get to meet her at last! (Ronee' has met her before when she went to California last year to be on "America's Most Talented Kids"; Rachel and her family, as well as Kendra and her family, went to the show to lend her some support.) While she is here we will get to take her to take to the Grand Ole Opry, and we will get to take her to our church, so she can see the Easter Cantata.
I am feeling pretty good: I am trying to catch a cold though: I have a sore throat, and I have developed an annoying cough, and my nose has felt somewhat stuffy. Mama has been pumping me with medications to try to stop the cold from coming; colds are not a good thing for me because they will only make my muscular dystrophy worse, and my immune system isn't the greatest in the world.
I am doing better than Ronee' though: she has a sinus infection. Today she had to go to the doctor's to get some medication and a shot to try to help her. She has been in bed since she came home, and she has been sleeping hard. I hope she feels better soon! She will probably miss school for part of this week until she starts feeling better.
The other day (Sunday) was a bad day in the weather department: we had severe storms, and we were under tornado watches (and warnings) for most of Sunday night. We didn't even bother going to church because we knew that the weather was going to get ugly later (which it did). Several counties just west of ours got smacked by tornadoes, and over 26 people were killed by the tornadoes.
We had briefly lost power (the generators kicked in after a few seconds), and we spent Sunday night holed up in our storm shelter. It was scary, but I felt safe knowing that we ewre protected by the shelter. We could hear the wind howling and the rain slamming down, and of course, all the thunder; it was quite noisy to say the very least!
When we got the all-clear, we were relieved to find out that we had little damage, but there were tree branches, twigs, pieces of shingles, and other debris littering our yard, and there was so much hail it looked like snow covered the ground. It was really weird. We were very fortunate, much more than a lot of people. As I said, over 25 people were killed here in Tennessee, and more were killed in other states. It was a very deadly weather day on Sunday; glad it is finally over!
The weather has been a lot better since then; we may get more later on, but I am praying to God to protect us. I have had enough of severe weather to last me the rest of my life! (This coming from a fan of weather! See? Even severe weather has made a weather afficianado like me wary!!)
Well, I am going to go to bed now--the medication mama gave me has suddenly kicked me in the tail: I can hardly keep my eyes open, and I am getting goofy-headed! So on that note, goodnight! Bye!
