Louisiana Sandusky writes a newsletter to her friends, reassuring them that she and her family "weathered" the recent spate of tornadoes and severe thunderstorms. She is, understandably, a little rattled.

Saturday, April 8, 2006, 5:10 a.m., D.S.T., Nashville, Tennessee~

Dear All~

I am well; thank you for your prayers and concern. My family (and myself) have "weathered the storm", and I am happy to say that the storms have mercifully moved on.

We did sustain some damage to our place (mostly to our yard; trees all over, trash and whatnot littering our yard; we face a big cleanup today when light comes), and the children have finally dropped off to sleep. They (and myself) are emotionally exhasuted, and so sleep will be in the offing for us today.

It was really bad yesterday: the tornado sirens kept going off and on (mostly on), and the skies were uuuuuuuuuuugly, to say the very least: greys, greens, and blacks; really scary looking! Funnels were commonplace yesterday, and we were eondering if we were to get hit next. The poor kids were terrified, and my poor dog was so scared she piddled all over the house in fear. So did the cat; they were quaking in terror as the storms raged on.

There have been 11 confirmed killed in the storm; thankfully, it was nobody I knew or associated with; but I am sure that the hospital was rocking with the influx of storm casualties.

I didn't get there: I tried to get there after they called, but there was too much in the way of debris in the road, and it was hard to get through; therefore, I had to call and (regrettably) tell them that I was unable to make it in. They did understand, though. They just told me to be careful and to stay safe. I told them, "Noooooo problem!" :)

I hope that this is the last round of severe weather: we just had storms last week, and we were just about recovered from that when this latest round came through yesterday and into the night. As I sit here, typing this, I am still trembling with fear every time it thunders and lightnings out. (The tornado threat has moved on out of here, but it is still raining moderately, and it is still storming outside. (She says, typing on the laptop. NICE. LOL) Hopefully it will stop within the next several hours.

Again, I thank you for the words of concern and worry. I am happy to say that we made it through the stormy period, that the worst has finally passed, and we will be cleaning up after the ground dries up and the rains move on out of here. I will be responding to your e-mails soon; in the meantime, I am going to go back to bed! I am TIRED! I have been up all. night. long., and I am beyond exhausted!

God bless and love to each and every one of you!

~Louie May Sandusky in Nashville, Tennessee (shaken, but okay!). :) (trying to smile through my fear of storms and the traumas of yesterday and last night...)

what a relief. There have been terrible tragedies everywhere. Where I live in southeastern New Mexico we've had a lot burned with the grassfires. We had a really bad one in my county New Year's Day. We continue to have grassfires here and in Texas and Oklahoma because of the drought.

That was a bad round of tornadoes that came through yesterday, we had two touch down in the town I work in, but there were no serious injuries, just a lot of limbs to avoid on the drive home...good letter Karen

I hope that this is the last round of severe weather

I hope so too, but I fear Mother Nature is on a terrible rampage these days.

I am so relieved that you and your family survived the latest round of horror tornadoes, which have now claimed the lives of 11 unfortunate people, God Bless them...Tennessee was worst hit, especially Nashville..and in Galatin !
They are saying the South and West of America are experiencing a huge
rise in early season twisters, and it does not augur well for the spring season !
Maybe you should think of moving from that hell hole tunnel... !!!
Love and Blessings
