Dear Journal~
I am sorry for not writing in here for so long, but I have been busier than a centipede in a toe-counting contest! LOL I live on the edge of chaos (or so people have told me...it's when I am at my best! LOL)!
I am still working at the hospital (although now I am on Easter break; am off until Wednesday). I am enjoying my time off and am seriously thinking of taking a sabbatical from my job so I can spend more time with my family and with my writing.
The children are off too from school: they have two weeks worth of vacation. (Oh, to be so lucky or so fortunate....*more heavy sighing* LOL)
We have company here from California. My friend Louisa Mason from Soulsbysville, California, and her 12-year-old niece, Rebekkah Rachel Cohen, are here, and we are having a wonderful time. Already we have gone to a concert (the McGruders from Missouri; we saw them the night they got here; wow, what an anointed group of singers they are!), and tonight we officially start the Cantata at our church. We expect to see a lot of people (visitors and out of towners), so the church will no doubt be packed from tonight until Sunday.
(On Saturday night--tomorrow--we are going to the Grand Ole Opry. The Cantata will go on in the early afternoon. Just thought I'd let you know that we won't miss the Cantata tomorrow; it's just earlier in the day than tonight. *grins*)
I hope and pray it all goes well. All the Cantata participants (yours truly included; I am in the adult Praise Team) probably feel like I am feeling now: nervous! LOL Last night we had our dress rehearsal, and all went well, thank the Lord!! :)
Today is an important day on the Christian calendar: it is Good Friday. This is the day where Jesus died on the cross, and it is a very sad day of rememberance and reflecting on why Jesus died on the Cross. So my mind will be on that most of all, amongst all the other trappings going on in my life.
I have some major news: my friends Jenna Aurora and Michael Doucet in Alaska had their baby. They had a little baby boy who was born four months premature. He wasn't supposed to be born until August. The reason he was born so early in the f irst place was because Jenna fell while getting up to go to the potty, and as a result of the fall, her water broke, and the baby was born not even an hour later. (He was born in the Emergency Room at Anchorage Medical Hospital.)
The baby weighed 1 pound, 1 ounce, and he was only 13" inches long, just over the size of a yardstick. He is really tiny, and right now, he is holding his own; still, he is a very sick little boy, and it will be some time before he leaves the NICU nursery. I will continue to keep little Mattaq Michael William Doucet and his mommy and daddy covered in praeer; if little Mattaq survives, it will be a Miracle!!
Well, Johnny is in his glory: his little girlfriend is here, and he is enjoying having her here. They stare at one another with googly eyes, and it is so cute to watch them sitting side by side, sharing their drink or food with one another and seeing them holding hands! *sighhh* Young love...how positively precious! :)
Ronee' is doing better too: she still has the sling on her arm while her shoulder heals, but she feels a lot better, and the goose egg on the back of her head from her fall has all but disappeared. She fell down the stairs a week ago today and gave herself a nice little concussion and seperated her shoulder. I am just thankful that it wasn't a lot worse; she could have been very badly hurt in the fall...it shudders to make me think of it....*cringing*
It was so terrifying to see her lying there, unconscious, and having the ambulance come to our place...It was like reliving old times when Ronee' had all her breathing problems...NOT pleasant memories AT all...
Steffi, Camey, and Tammi are still mad as wet hens: as you are very well aware by now, they all have to work at the restaurant this weekend, and they are NOT happy about it AT all. Still, that is the price one has to pay in the food biz. You are required to work holidays and if they are lucky, they get double pay (not all restaurants do this, but quite a few of them do). I feel bad for them because I know they all were looking forward to the Cantata; now all that has flown by the wayside...
I have been busy trying to get some of my e-mails answered; as soon as I get one answered, here comes another one, hot on its heels! *sighhh* Oh, well--I don't mind wriitng to my friends; I love hearing about their lives and what is going on within them! It is exciting to see families getting bigger and it is exciting to experience the moments in their lives, good OR bad, even if it is only for a moment's time! :)
Well, I will be going now. Have to go back to bed. (sigh...That is sooo nice! I don't have to rush and break my neck to be out of the house by five fifteen!); I can sleep in if I want to (seven or so, depending on when the troops get up! LOL)! That is pure bliss; I am soooo blessed! :)
God bless you all this Easter time, and remember the Reason why we celebrate! Take a moment's time to reflect on Jesus' dying on the Cross and why we have so much hope in Him if we just learn to call on Him and trust in him, completely and fully!
(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tennessee, Louisiana Mayrah Sandusky. :)
