Louisiana writes to her friend in Alaska after Uma Tullaq e-mailed her. She is happy that the Tullaqs will be getting a little boy from Russia within the year.

Dear Uma Tullaq~
Congratulations on the adoption approval! I am so happy for you and Kirk! That is awesome! A little boy named Uri! WOW!
Yes, Jenna had her baby, but I am afraid he has a long way to go before he is well (or strong) enough to be released from the hospital. He is currently a very sick little baby, and it is all up to God whether Mattaq lives or dies. I am afraid it is out of our control. Whatever happens happens. I am praying like mad for little Mattaq to survive this rough patch in life!
I talked to Michael the other day, and he was devastated. Seems that their baby has suffered a brain bleed and a stroke, and doctors are doing everything they humanly can to save him.
I wonder what is going on with him now; I have been in the position where Michael is now at, and it is one of the worst times a parent can ever experience! (My duaghter, L'Acadia, had been born premature. Unfortunately, she died after she contracted meningitis from another baby in the nursery. She suffered, nad it still makes tears prick at my eyes to think of it. I miss her so much!)
We had another round of severe weather here, but it has mercifully moved on; unlike the last storms we didn't have any damage, but we were quite nervous! It has been a very bad spring here in the Tennessee Valley! I am more than ready for all this bad weather to be overwith; a person can only take so much!!
Last night we went to the Grand Ole Opry. We had a wonderful tme, and our little guest from California was especially pleaseed because her favorite singer, Reba McEntire, made a surprise appearance! Afterwards, she got to meet Reba backstage, get her autograph, and have her picture made with her. She was beside herself, and she got so nervous she burst into tears!
Alas, but these good times will be coming to an end, for tomorrow Rebekkah Cohen and Louisa Mason (her aunt) will be heading back to California.
We hate to see them go; I know that there will be many tears shed! We really enjoyed having Louisa and Rebekkah here; they are wonderful people, and my son, Johnny, has a girlfriend to call his own. Rebekkah has been like the tonic he has so desperately needed as of late: he has been depressed and his muscular dystrophy worsening has not helped at all. Having Rebekkah here has made him forget of his suffering (if only for a little while); it was a nice break, not only for Johnny, but for ALL of us.
Let's see...for the past two weeks, we have gone to a movie ("Ice Age 2: The Meltdown"), bowling, to the Grand Ole Opry (twice), saw the McGruders at our church, participated in the Easter Cantata at our church, went shopping and took our guests on a whirlwind tour of Nashville, and much more. Right now I am so exhausted it isn't funny; I could sleep for a WEEK! LOL
Sweetie, just because you have MS or sometimes use a wheelchair shouldn't mean you have to hide! You need to learn to take life by the horns and live for the moment! Enjoy life! Don't hide!! I know it is embarrassing when people stare, but you can let yourself overcome your shyness! I used to get stares all the time when I was using my cane, crutches, or my scooter, but all that is ancient history now, and now I can walk without pain for the first itme in years! I am sorry you are having it rough with your MS, I will keep you in prayer!! I hope your flares ease soon!
Well, it is almost four thirty, am going to try to sneak in another hour of sleep before the alarm starts chirping (or my dog wakes me up by licking me on the face!). Take care, Uma, and do write back soon! Send me a picture of little Uri as soon as you get one; I would LOVE to see what he looks like! I bet he is beautiful!!

I'm glad to hear Uri's adoption has been approved, and that Rebekkah got to meet Reba. The best part is how having Rebekkah there is the effect it has on Johnny. Well done!
