Louisiana writes to Tommi Eschewiski in Arkansas after Tommi wrote to her. Tommi has eight children who range in age from six to sixteen-and-a-half.
The family is currently on their way to Breaux Bridge, Louisiana, where they are going to attend the Crawfish Festival.

Dear Tommi~
It was good to hear from you. Sorry that this letter won't be long, but we are currently on the road. We are heading towards Louisiana. We are going to Louisiana for the Crawfish Festival, which is to be held in my old stompin' grounds, Breaux Bridge, where I was born.
Breux Bridge holds this crawfish festival every year; it has been in existance since 1959, and every year, it appears to get better--not to mention, bigger. Over 100,000 people from all over the United States (and the world) come to the Crawfish Festival for a good time--and lots of Cajun food!
Thank you for your letter; I am glad you liked my book, "A Family Made Out Of Miracles And Rainbows". It always helps to hear positive comments regarding one's work: it gives the writer hope and bolsters their confidence in their craft. I will be sending you the sequel, "...And The Miracles Continue", which talks about the additions of Rani, Janica, and Arjun into our family and any future plans. I just did a children's book about our International Family, and it will be out later this year or early in 2007.
There may very well be more books in the future for me.
To tell you a little about myself, I have been married to my husband, Bill, for nearly 15 years, and we adopted children with special needs starting 13 years ago (our first two adopted children--Johnny and Ronee'--will be fourteen come December), and it has melded into something of an obsession. We can never give enough love, and we can't seem to stop taking in needy children into our hearts--or our home. Now we are staring at the possibility of adding Child #54 into our family, and we are wondering what the future may hold for our family.
God has been instrumental in bringing us children from all over the world, and it has gotten to the point to where we can't imagine our world without any of them! We have fallen hopelessly in love with our kids, and they mean everything to us!
Our kids come from Africa, Russia, France, Iran, Italy, Germany, Sri Lanka, India, Vietnam, Japan, Malaysia, Korea, The Netherlands, Romania, Canada, Mexico, Guatemala, and the United States. They now range in age from two on up to nearly 24, and all but five remain at home.
Now our children are growing up, and believe it or not, we are growing old. It may sound funny coming from the mouth of someone who isn't even forty yet, but I am a grandma now, five times (soon our sixth grandchild, a girl, will be born), and I have been through so much with our children. Our children have gone through so much, and God somehow has brought them through with grace and mercy. Our children are living testiments to the triumph of the human spirit, and people are amazed at their tenacity and courage.
Please tell me more about y our family next time you write; I would like to learn more about you, and I would like to hear from you again! Arkansas is a beautiful state, and we have visited her on numerous oacasions. (We will be going through Arkansas on our way to Louisiana; we may stop by if you'll let us or agree to a place to where we can meet!) I wouldn't mind meeting you or your family!
In the meantime, I am going to go now; it is my turn to drive. My husband is getting stiff, and his back is starting to pain him again. (He has chronic back problems and other health concerns.)
