Dear Journal~
I am sitting here in the family bus, typin' away on the computer while my wife, Louisiana, is handling the driving. I am also trying to keep an eye on the kids; most of them are snoozing in their seats, and the ones who are awake are whiling away the hours by playing their handheld games, reading a book, or gazing out the windows at the passing scenery.
We are in Arkansas; we are on our way towards Louisiana, where we are going to be going to the Breaux Bridge Crawfish Festival, which is one of the 100 top-rated festivals in the entire nation.
Over 100,000 people descend on the tiny Cajun hamlet of Breaux Bridge, which is located near Lafayette, and there is much in the way of Cajun food (in particular, crawfish; you can have it any way of your choosing) and continuous Cajun, zydeco, country, gospel, and rock music from local and national acts.
We have gone to the Breaux Bridge Crawfish Festival ever since I have known my wife, and we have taken the children for the past seven years or so. They have gotten a big kick out of it as much as we have, and every year the Crawfish Festival just seems to get bigger--and better. It is a family tradition for us to go to the festival, and I have my wife to thank. She has gone to the Crawfish Festival since she was but a child in her native Louisiana (in fact, she was born in Breaux Bridge; she is very familiar with the area), and she has fully indocrinated me and the children into her world of Cajun music, Cajun eatin', and Cajun good times, Louisiana-style.
Some of the highlights in regards to Cajun performers appearing this year include Bruce D'aigrepont from New Orleans, Belton Richard (my wife's favorite singer), young Hunter Hayes (he is but a teenager, and he is a Cajun music whiz, having performed since the tender age of two), and the special appearances by our son Johnathon and daughter Ronee'. We are looking forward to dancing and hearing the best of what Cajun music has to offer, and we are looking forward to dining on scrumptious Cajun fare guaranteed to make one's mouth a waterin'.
Well, I am going to let Louisiana drive now; I have a cramp in my sciatic nerve, and it is starting to give me no END of grief. *OW* I will write again soon; I may write at the festival, or else I will write afterwards..either way, you'll soon hear from me (in a few days or so). That lipsmacking Cajun fare is making my mouth water, I don't know about yours !
And I feel for you with that curse sciatica, the best thing to do is take some IBrufen painkillers, you need them anti inflammatory tablets, along with a hot water bottle on the affected spot !
I have also have heard that eating celery internally releases anti inflammatory properties which also tackle sciatica !
