Louisiana shares her good news with Kendra Williams in California. She is to become the parent to a fifty-fourth child, a little seven-year-old boy from Russia who has cerebral palsy.

Dear Kendra~
Just wanted to let you know that the little Russian boy we were trying to adopt is to become ours! The adoption specialist just called today, and she delivered the good news. As you can imagine, I am delirious with joy!!
The child in question is a little boy, aged seven, from Russia who has cerebral palsy. He is in a wheelchair and he can't walk or talk, according to the adoption agency we are working with (Spence-Chapin, whom we have worked with before). His name is Vlademir Aleksander, and he has blue eyes and red hair; he is the cutest little guy! (I will be affixing his picture on this letter, so you will see what our new son will look like.)
He is a beautiful little guy, and we can't wait to add him to our family!!) This is going to be a Mother's Day to remember; what a way to celebrate being a mother: getting a new child! :)
Well, how are the children? How are YOU doing? What is new on your end? Things here are going quite well, and I am happy to report that allt he children are healthy and flourishing. Bill and my parents Armand and Therese are doing well too, and we couldn't be any happier than we are right now!
We are headed home from Louisiana: we were at the Breaux Bridge Crawfish Festival over the past weekend, and we had a marvelous time. Ronee' and Johnny got to sing with Belton Richard, and the audience loved them. We danced and pigged out on Cajun food, and now I am going to have to go on a diet before we go to Mexico next month! LOL
How is the weather? Here it is partly cloudy, we had rain yesterday and this morning, but it has moved on out, and it is supposed to be nicer tomorrow, with warming temperatures. Hope the weather there in Soulsbysville has warmed up (not to mention, gotten a lot drier)!
Well, Kendra, we had a wonderful visit with Rebekkah Rachel Cohen and Louisa; they looked wonderful, and Johnny was in heaven. He finally got to meet his little girlfriend, and Rebekkah was the medicine he needed; she made him forget of his own medical troubles, and it was wonderful for him--nad for us.
We went to the Grand Ole Opry (twice), we went to the mall and to the movies (we saw "Ice Age 2: The Meltdown"), bowling, to our Easter Cantata, and saw the McGruders gospel group the day before Good Friday. Rebekkah is a wonderful little girl, and she is going to make it through her dilemma. She is full of courage and grace, and she has such a winning personality!
I am going to go now; we are going to eat at the Cotton Patch Cafe'; we are getitng hungry. I will write again soon; take care, and pray that little Vlady comes soon! (We are wrestling with whether to keep his Russian name or change it to an American one. Time to hit the baby books again, Louie! LOL) God bless!
