Why Me, Lord?
When I was forty years old I had a hear attack. I asked many times, “why me, Lord?” He never seemed to respond. At least that is what I thought.
Now that I look back on it all, I realize that maybe his silence was louder than I ever imagined. Maybe he was simply waiting for the right time or maybe, he was talking but I was not hearing.
Whatever the reason I felt God had somehow let me down. The fact was God was with me the whole time. He was there, guiding the surgeon’s knife as the doctor operated on me to do a quadruple bypass of my heart.
He was with me as I spent many years fighting to stay alive and he is with me today.
I once had a lady tell me if I had faith God would heal my heart and I would be as healthy as a child. I told her that whatever God wanted, God created. There must be a reason for this.
I now know there was. I had much spiritual growth needed and this started me on the path of true faith. I am still traversing that pathway. I will arrive one day at the Golden Gates of Heaven but only by the grace of God.
As for me, I give what I can. Do what I can and let God do the rest. I have realized that is what he wanted from me all along.
Faith does not necessarily move mountains. Sometimes it climbs them. Sometimes it guides us around them and sometimes it causes us to just accept the fact that they are there.
If you want faith in God you must first turn your life over to God and accept whatever comes. God will always be there. He will hurt for you. He will heal for you and one day he will call you home.
Trust in God and you need not trust in anyone else, especially yourself. Another way to look at that is if you truly trust in God you can truly trust yourself for he is guiding you.
God bless the readers of this passage.
