Hey! This is your friend, Rosamunde Alcorn, in London, England, writing! Are you okay?? 'Tis been a long time since I last heard from you, and I was wondering if you were mad at me for some reason or another. This isn't like you not to write back! What could I have possibly done to displease you? Whatever it is, I am truly sorry!
Today is a sad day here in Great Britain--'tis one year ago today when London was attacked by terrorists; over sixty people lost their lives and hundreds were injured. I still can't believe that it happened! And now all this stuff going on in North Korea with the missiles being fired--scary stuff! I pray nothing develops; I pray that the missile crisis can be resolved peacefully!
But onto more pleasantries here--how are you doing? How are the children? I think I heard on the adoption boards that you adopted another child! Is this true or is it rumour? Please fill me in; I would love to hear about your newest addition! How old is she (or is it a he)? Is he/she healthy, or is she/he disabled in any way?? Good for you; congratulations on your new arrival!
I also hear that you are going on a cruise. That is so wonderful! Congratulations on fifteen years of marriage! I bet you and your husband are dotty with excitment; Lord knows I would be! LOL I hope that you have a great time on your cruise! One more question, though--WHERE are you going?? And for how long?? I am all ears!!
How is the weather there in Tennessee? Here it is patchy: partly cloudy outside, and rather warm; rather hot here, actually. We have had temps soaring to the upper nineties to near 100 degrees, which is almost unheard of here. It is miserable here; there are many people who are dropping from the heat, and there have been some deaths reported. I pray it cools off here before we all melt! I hope it is a lot cooler there than it has been here as of late!
Besides the cruise, have you gone anyplace special with the children? I hope they are having fun on their summer holiday from school! Peter, Brighton, and Alastaire are enjoying their time off from school studies, and little Millie is growing like a weed: she is talking, walking, and catching up to her peers in development; this is so wonderful to see! For a long time she was like a statue: we couldn't get a word out of her, and she would lie there for hours, crying her head off! We were concerned that she might have had developmental concerns, but right now she appears to be on target with other children her age, thank the Lord!
The boys have enjoyed having Millie in their lives; and now we have signed on to take yet another child into our home/hearts: a little boy from Pakistan named Hamish, who has breathing problems and is about a year old. He has been in and out of hospital because of his breathing; doctors think he may have asthma or allergies. You ought to see him: he is so adorable! We have fallen in love with little Hamish already; we cannot wait until he is here with us!
As you can imagine, Millie could care less about her new brother to be (she is too young to really know what is going on), but the boys are wild with excitement! Already they have been fighting to see who will be his caretaker and who he will be sharing a room with! LOL
I do have some bad news concerning Angus: he has been in hospital lately (for the past month)--he has had some weakness in his limbs and he has had trouble walking. Doctors have diagnosed him as having Guillian-Barre'; it is a rare disease that causes weakness, pain, and paralysis; they don't know how or why he got it or if he will ever regain the full use of his limbs once he DOES recover. I have been having to take care of the children and trying to take care of the house, in addition to going to hospital, to spend time with my husband; it has been very rough on us, and some days it is all I can do to keep from crying. I am so knackered now it isn't funny; I am about to fall over!!
Please say a special prayer for Angus; pray he recovers his legs soon, and pray he doesn't spend the rest of his days in a wheel chair! Pray for us too; we have been going crazy here!!
Now we are to be getting a little boy from Pakistan, and I am wondering if it is a bad time, what with Angus being unwell...things are happening way too quickly here, and I am wondering what is around the corner! Oh, such troubles; one shouldn't have to go through so much heartache!!
Well, I will be going now. I do hope to hear from you; it has been a long while. I do want to remain friends with you; I miss your cheery, happy letters! Please do write as soon as possible; I really could use your advice/prayers now!!
