Jenna is thrilled that her newborn son is finally home from the NICU. She writes to her friend in Tennessee to share the good news.

Dear Louie~
Hi! This is Jenna! How are you? I am doing quite well, thank you! :)
I am writing to let you know that our son is home from the hospital. He came home two days ago; we are pinching ourselves, trying to see if it is a dream! But it is NOT a dream: he lies in his crib, and he is absolutely perfect! :)
As you can imagine, Michael and msyelf are estatic! We have been staring at him, respnding to his every whim. He has been eating (reasonably) well, but the act of eating leaves him spent and gasping for air. Even though he is on oxygen and monitors, his breathing MOSTLY remains trouble-free; if something happens, we can then help him. (The oxygen and monitors are for precaution; so far, he hasn't had any apneic or brachycardic spells, thank the Lord!! :) Hopefully, nothing will happen; I pray it doesn't!)
Mattaq now weigghs 4 pounds, 2 ounces. He is very small, as far as newborn babes go, but has doubled his weight and size. He looks a lot like me; I don't see much of Michael evident in him. He is all Inuit, and he is aDORable! :)
Michael's family is here, oohing and aahing over the new arrival. They have been a very big help, relieving me of my duties if I have trouble or am tired. They won't let me overdo myself.
I am having problems with my hand/arm and leg; nothing new there. I have gotten used to it...but I have those days where I feel sorry for myself and get depressed. Guess that comes with the territory. At least I have help in Michael and his family nad with my sister, Jerrica, who is also here with HER family.
It is a houseful here at the Doucet place!... :)
As you can see by the address, I have moved. Oh, we are still here in Anchorage, but we moved to the :"country", to a bigger place. We needed to move since we now have a little one to take care of. We miss our apartment on Northern Lights Boulevard, but we like the room our new place brings to us, and we like the natural beauty of our new abode. We see animals and birds, and the air smells clean and refreshing; it is a welcome change from the "grit" of the city! :)
How have you been doing, Louie? It has been a long while since I last heard from you. Hope y'all are okay down there! (I am starting to sound like you! LOL) Life is very good now that we've moved to our new place and little Mattaq is home! :) I pray it contineus!
Uh-oh--the warning light that signals that Mattaq is crying is flashing. Mattaq needs me. I will have to tend to him if one of the others don't beat me to it! LOL Take care, Louie, write SOON (PLEASE??), and God bless you! Love you!
