Louisiana is upset to hear that her young friend, Rebekkah, has been in the hospital and has had surgery. She tries to offer her mother some comfort during this difficult turn of events.

Dear Naomi And Micah~
I was e-mailing Roberto Sormiento when I got your disturbing e-mail. I am so sorry; what happened to cause Rebekkah to go back into the hospital and eventually have surgery? I pray and hope she didn't lose any more of her leg (or her other leg); it sounds extremely serious! I will be calling Pastor Bilkey and the prayer team at Christ Community Assembly of God; they will be sorry to hear of this latest chain of events! I know I am!
When I got your letter in my inbox, I couldn't help but cry. Yesterday was a rainbow type of a day: good, yet bad. Good in the sense that my nurse (Roberto) became a proud daddy for the tenth time (his wife, M'Buti, believe it or not, had quadruplets, all boys!!), and bad in the sense of learning of Rebekkah's latest medical crisis. I will be praying extra hard for your daughter; I know that since she is your only child, she is something special to you and Micah!
I also have other bad news to share: Susie Jackson, Audrey's daughter, has been having seizures on a regular basis. They don't know what is causing them; the hospital where she is at has specialists and neurologists on her case, and they will be running all sorts of tests to see what is going on with the little girl. Please be praying for her too; Audrey is understandably shaken!
I will not tell Johnny about Rebekkah. I don't think now is a good time; but I will tell him one day. He has been doing so good in relation to his muscular dystrophy, and I don't want to be the one to jeaopardize his health. He has such a tender spirit. I will also not tell Ronee'. It would just crush her, too. I would like to, but like Johnny's situation, I don't want to jeapardize Ronee' 's health either, not when she has been doing so well! I will tell Bill and some of the other (older) children, and I will tell them not to tell Johnny or Ronee'; I want to be the one to tell them when the time is right.
Speaking of Ronee', she is getting ready to go to camp next month. She goes to arthritis camp for a week in August, and she is looking forward to it. She has gone to this camp (put on by the local chapter of the Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation) since she was six-and-a-half, and she has really enjoyed herself. Johnny is getting ready to go to camp too: his camp, put on by the Muscular Dystrophy Association, is next week, and I want him to have fun and not worry about things like his health--or Rebekkah's latest surgery/medical crisis. For now, I will remain silent regarding this matter.
Onto more pleasant matters--
How is the weather there? Here it is partly cloudy and humid, with temps in the eighties. It is expected to get hotter by next week: temps here in Nashville are expected to climb to the middle nineties, and the heat index values are expected to rise. Which means that I will have to keep children like Johnny, Ronee', Rhiannon, Todd, Roberto, Deborah, and Jo-El (and the littler ones like Arjun) indoors during the heat of the day, and make sure that my father, who has heart problems, doesn't overdo it and work himself into yet another heart attack. *sighhh* Funsville, indeed--NOT! *more heavy sighing*
I hope the weather there in Cali is much better than it is here in HOT Nashville!
Have you been watching that show, "America's Got Talent"? I really like that little girl, Taylor Ware, who is a yodeler. It takes a lot of skill to do that, and she does that extremely well for her young years! To think: she learned how to yodel from a BOOK! AMAZING!! I personally hope she will win; she has that special spark to be a star in the making! (She is from Franklin, Tennessee, which is not too far from here; so she is something of a local celebrity here! We are pulling for her!!)
My daughter, Ronee', tried for the show when they had auditions here, but she got nervous during her performance and got sick on the stage. She was embarrassed about it, but she knows that anyone can have a bad performance, and that happened to be her time. She was gracious about it though, and she was glad to have had the opportunity to audition! (She has been on "Star Search" and on "America's Most Talented Kids", so she has some mighty big credentials under her thirteen-year-old belt! :) She has also sang on the Grand Ole Opry and has opened shows for people like Reba McEntire, Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, "BeauSoleil", Jo-El Sonnier, and her favorite singer of all time, Loretta Lynn! :)
Well, Naomi, I will let you go now. I know you are probably busy being with Rebekkah while she is in the hospital. Tell her that we say hello, that we love her, and that we are praying extra hard for her recovery! Please keep us posted on her progress, and let us know if there is anything we can do! If you want me to come there, I will be more than happy to; anything to give you some support and needed down time! Let me know on this matter, too! I will then make the appropriate arrangements to fly out there at a moment's notice! Hope to see you soon; stay in touch!

Karen, what a dear and caring heart you possess! And how well you depict these situations...there's a lot more of this in true life, than people can imagine. Each person in you story/letter, is a hero in their own right.
This is a beautiful letter, one that I know Naomi will appreciate, okay here I go again now thinking like they are real LOL, the way you write does that to me

Sorry to hear all of the sad news...hope things improve. An excellent write, but I think Louie should tell Johnny, I'd think he'd like to know. That is his girlfriend, after all...if something should happen to her, he wouldn't be surprised...just a thought.
