Arty’s Real Story

            I would like to tell a little more about how my book, “Immaculate White Smoke” came to be.

            It comes from my past.  That is to say it has a lot of me in it.  It also comes from my faith which is a part of me.  Forgive me if that sounds redundant.  That is to say, many of the ideas came from the scriptures.

            Please don’t let that confuse you.  This is not gospel.  Jesus spoke in parables.  These were fictitious stories which made a real life point.  You may say this does, too.

            If you buy the book, you will be reading about ghosts.  At the beginning Arty is a horrible bank robber and Andora is someone who simply goes along.  Arty’s past is the reason for his becoming a ghost.  Some say, I don’t believe in ghosts but I ask you, do you believe in Angels? 

            I actually don’t believe in ghosts either but there are many who believe in purgatory.  I don’t know it there is or is not such a thing.  God knows and he will tell me when he’s ready.

            If you wonder why this bank robber could be saved from the fires of hell after his criminal behavior I would offer this.  The apostle Paul started out killing the followers of Christ.  One might think God would take his revenge.  An eye for an eye is the Old Testament view of God.  But Jesus simply met up with this man on the road to Damascus and asked, “Paul, why do you persecute me?”  When you read the scriptures you learn that Paul actually died for the very people he started out to persecute. 

            So, that being said, it is not unbelievable to think that God can forgive whomever he wants to forgive.

            So, this brings me back to Arty and Andora.  They pay for their crimes but the question is this.  Is there a way out for them?  Arty is a bank robber and Andora is guilty of allowing herself to led astray.  We all do that.

            In the course of my book I take the trip with these two and twist and turn the plot to keep you guessing what comes next.  One person who bought my book and sent me feedback said she could not put it down.  It’s probably good for her that it only lasts 181 pages.  I tried to pack as much action and suspense in as I could but I also tried to reflect the power of love

            How does it end?  I won’t tell.  You must read the book to find out for sure but I think you will find yourself wondering about the paths that we all take in life and where it leads us.

            Arty does everything wrong, even being a ghost.  This makes for some humor.  Andora learns to love more deeply and she also learns more about herself.  There are other characters in the book.  If you want to know how they figure into this I hope you will buy my book and find out.
