This was written as class-room work. It was just a little meditation I had on what is happening, in some cases, in our world today.Marriage as we knew it in the 20's,30's,40's and 50's is never coming back. The days of simplicity is over unless some major thing takes place to bring it back. It seems we are heading for distruction but only God knows the future. It gets worse every day.

                             THE  CHILDREN

The child in mother's womb cast out as tho an old shoe, as if to say, you will not come between me and my pleasure. And money is too dear to share with you. Torn apart as yesterday's newspaper, with little hearts broken and bleeding, no care for those who come hereafter. On The Father's land they are not welcome, however, rather, later if I can.

Money is the source of evil as we wile away the hours on such trifiles, as we think will make us feel good in the end. Nor do we care about the beauty of the land, with the flowers and the trees which came before us.

Art and poetry are a thing of the past , fruits, vegetable gardens, farm, meat and poultry, seafood and fish no longer cultivated.

The cost of these is out of range and now imported to feed a nation of geat means, power, wealth and ability to be self-sufficient and sustain itself independently of others.

The older generation greatly distressed, those in the grave, and yet hating to see the young so wasteful and misguided. Hearts sorry for those who throw away the things they worked so hard for and who know the values of the past.

Their hearts grieve and the Father sends his warnings! May they not make the same mistakes we did!.

Children today are spoiled, uncivilized brats. It is because we took discipline out of the home and from the schools. So sad!! A good point you raise; thank you!

You know something Little Flower? You have made a good point. I read Felix's reply and he makes a good point, too. Being a father of three and a grandfather of 5, I have looked both backward to see if I could have been a better father. The answer is yes. I also look forward and ask what kind of life will my children and grandchildren live. Only God knows that. Here I stand on middle ground between the two of you. Yes, the kids learn from Mom and Dad. They also learn from their piers. This started with Adam and Eve, Cain and Abel and has escallated through the ages. My parents taught us things but sometimes we choose to go a different way. We tried to teach our kids, sometimes based on our own mistakes of the past. Unfortunately, they will often simply consider Mom and Dad to old fashioned and go their own way. God gave us and them Free Will. He knew what it would bring. Believe me, he is not surprised by what has happened. Jesus told us it was coming. Keep the faith and keep talking to God. Oh yes, and also take time to hear his reply. It may not always be what you want to hear but he knows best.
He is Dad.
God Bless,
Lew

Little Flower, you are asking the wrong question, no offence but you should be asking what do we make of the parents of today. A child really does learn what it is taught.
As I am now in my fifties and I look back I can see almost three generations of parents. My father's father ruled house and hearth with an iron fist over hid wife and children, my father and mother after surviving a war were poor but strict but still managed to provide a few luxuries they never had as children, I as a father and single parent tried to buy my daughter all she asked for and love and show her more affection then I had received as a child in a family of nine, now my daughter and her husband give their little girl wven more attention, love and yes more material items as well.

The ability for parents to say no and you can't have that or you can't do that seems to be diluting with each generation. Can it be somehow reversed or can we find a spot somewhere in the middle...only future parents will decide. Sorry for such a long rant.

I would like your input. What's your opinion of the children today compared to our generation?
