Louisiana Sandusky shares some exciting news with her friend, Kendra Williams. The family may be growing; their adoption caseworker has called to tell them about a little boy from Israel, who is in need of a loving family.
The little boy is six years old, and his name is Gabriel. He has seizures.

Dear Kendra~
Hi! Thanks for everything you did for me while I was in California; it was so good to see y'all again! I really appreciated all the support and prayers you showered me with while I was there! I was glad I could be there for Micah, Naomi, and Rebekkah (and also Susie and her family)!
I have some exciting news to share with you: the adoption caseworker called us while I was gone; she left us a message telling us that she would be stopping by (sometime next week) to see Vlademir (see how he is adjusting to his new home here in America). She also told us about a little boy from Israel who is in desperate need of a home and a family.
The little guy in question is six years old. His name is Gabriel Abrahiam, and he is the cutest little thing: all eyes, and a beautiful, cherubic face, dark curls surrounding it like a halo. He needs to get out of Israel as soon as possible, and we have been praying long and hard about it ever since. Maybe God will place Gabriel with us, or else he may go to another family, but right now, I am falling hard for him. I saw his picture, and Lord, all I could do was cry! He is so precious!
If we decide to take Gabriel in, this will be our FIFTY-FIFTH child! It seems hard to imagine that we have become the parents to such an astonishing amount of children, but God knew we wanted to have a large family; so He answered our prayers in a BIG way! We have enjoyed each and every child that has come to our home, and we have not regretted it for a SECOND! If we could add more children, believe me, we would do it in a heartbeat!! :)
Our children are all getting so big, and now grandchildren are coming into the picture. Our eldest daughter, Lightning, now has six children (four boys, two girls), and in a few months (October), Dwerlina, our daughter in Louisiana, is going to be getting married; there will no doubt be children in her future as well. Our youngest, Arjun, is now two years old, and he is walking and talking up a storm; he is really getting big!
We still get stared at whenever we go out in public (it isn't every day when you see a family of our size!), but the kids are our world, and we would do everything possible for them. They have had so much heartbreak and tragedy in their young lives; it is time we bring joy and hope to them!
Johnny got a letter from Rebekkah; he will be writing to her sometime in the next few days before he goes to his camp. Speaking of camp, Ronee' is now at HER camp for a week, and I am sure she is having the time of her life! We miss her not being here, but it won't be long before her sunny smile reappears, and she brings much joy to all that she comes in contact with! :)
Be praying for Johnny. He has been rather depressed since finding out about Rebekkah's losing her remaining leg. He is feeling vulnerable, and with camp coming up, he is feeling scared. Every time he goes to camp, he sees that more of his friends have gone on to Glory, and it makes him question his own mortality. He has already lived far longer than doctors predicted, but he still has a terminal illness, and there are no guarantees that the good spell he has been having with his health will continue.
Tonight at our church, I will make the announcement about Gabriel Abrahiam. I know everyone will be wild with joy as I share this new miracle with my church family1 There will be much celebrating going on tonight at Christ Community Assembly of God! :)
I hear that California may get some needed relief from the hgh temperatures. Lord, I hope so! Almost twenty people have died; y'all are NOT used to that kind of heat! It is hot here too, but at least we have afternoon showers to cool us off during the heat of the day; that we can be thankful for! There are other places (Texas, for example) who are crying for rain!!
Well, Kendra, this is all for now. I will be going now; I have to take Johnny to the doctor (time for his checkup at the MDA clinic). I and Johnny will be gone for a good part of the day. I will write again soon; take care, and God bless!

What a super, super woman with an equally super heart. To care for so many children plus grandchildren is mind-boggling. May God add to richly to this woman as she takes on yet another child to love. Thanks for the update, Karen.
I can't even imagine it 55 children! Poor Johnny and even more sad Rebekkah. I like them and was hoping they could be happy.It's depressing;-)Excellent write.
ANOTHER CHILD!!!! this was so exciting, we almost forgot to read on (:)) Poor Johnny, hope he will be feeling better, it must be a hard time for the kids. A great write, Karen!
