A story about a courageous young preteen who has touched those who took care of her when she needed the most.

One of the more memorable people I've had the pleasure of knowing over the years as an EMT has made a huge impact on what I do and why I enjoy my job so much.
Ronee' Le-Anne Reaux has given us plenty of times for fear and uncertainty, but at the same time she has proven to be a fighter, an inspiration, nothing short of a miracle.
Ronee' is now nearly thirteen years of age. Lately her health has been to where we haven't had to go on runs on account of her. She has had a long-standing history of asthma or breathing problems, but is now at the age where she can handle her medications. She knows not to overdo it if her asthma acts up; she knows when to call for help and stay away from the things that give her the most trouble (like bee stings or penicillin, for example).
As long as the youngster follows her doctors' advice, she should not have any problems to where she needs our help. So far, this has proven to be the case: it has been a while since we have had to come to her house to care for her.
Ronee' has had everything from a stroke, several heart attacks, seizures, and whatnot; yet has emerged whole from each crisis, more determined to survive. She has a wonderful outlook on life: she enjoys all that life has to offer.
She is very gifted in many ways: her reasoning/verbal skills are nothing short of extraordinary, she has a finely-tuned ear for music (she is a talented young vocalist and musician), and her goal in life is to become as well-known as her favorite singer, Loretta Lynn.
With her talents/determination, I have no doubt in my mind that Ronee' will make it. She certainly has the drive to succeed: nothing is giong to stop her or stand in her way.
We have nearly turned grey on account of her, but in the end, everything she has put us through has made us appreciate her insatiable will to live. Ronee' is well loved by many people, and whenever she meets new people, they are forever changed. She has a way to bring out the best in people, and she has a great support system in her family and friends. Ronee' teaches people about courage and hope in the face of difficult situations and has a way of wrapping herself around your little finger (or heart).
Ronee' is one of the most amazing young people I have ever met. She will talk your ear off if you let her, and she is always laughing (usually). She isn't afraid to speak her mind and isn't scared to hide her feelings. Ronee' is gentle and compassionate in nature, and she does not have a mean bone in her body, even when people treat her badly. She just prays for them and forgives them, and she moves on without getting all bent out of shape about it.
Ronee' is very devout in her Christian faith. She lives for Jesus in her actions. She is probably one of the main reasons why I have become an EMT in the first place. I owe my very life to her. Ronee' is truly a person worth getting to know. My life is indeed richer because OF knowing her and helping her in her time of need.
God is going to use Ronee' in a very big way, and she is going to bless people with her testimony of courage, her musical talents, and her compassionate nature. I have never seen a child/young lady quite like her. I don't think I will ever forget her as long as I live.
Ronee' is truly a Miracle, and she has made me a better person inside AND out.

Well, reading this brilliant portrait just erased all of my excuses for not pusing a little harder this weekend to reach some very important goals. Thank you for sharing the story of this miracle of inspiration named RONEE' THE BRAVE.

this is a fantastic write, Karen! I noted immediately a difference in this work compared to the ones written as parents/friends/children. The tone...the feel...has a more professional aura to it (in no way demeaning the informal tone of family,etc!). You do a great job speaking from various perspectives, Karen. I am impressed!
Much better. :) Much, much better! The shortened sentances and paragraphs engage the reader's emotions and make Ronee shine like the courageous girl she (YOU) are. :) BRAVA!
Now, if this does not explain why Ronee' is one of our favorites! A wonderful write, Karen! Loved it, even if it got us a little watery around the eyes...
