Dear Journal~
I am sitting here, at work, on break, writing on my computer. I just went on break a few minutes ago, so I have plenty of time to kill before I head on to the cafeteria and feed my face! LOL
I wish I could say the news about Opri Johnson is good, but it isn't. The kid is in really bad shape, according to his mamma, and it breaks my heart! If he lives it will be a miracle! I will have to pray extra hard for the Johnson family~
Last night, I watched "America's Got Talent" on NBC, and I have fallen in love with the show. Of course, some of the acts they have had on there have gone beyond the boundaries of "good taste", but some have been fantastic, including the likes of "Celtic Spring" (this family of Irish dancers/fiddlers; the kids range in age from something like fifteen down to six, plus mom and pop), Tennessee's own Taylor Ware (11-year-old phenominal yodeler; she is from nearby Jackson), Bianca Ryan (11-year-old powerhouse from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania), "The Rappin' Granny" (73-year-old who raps; she is hilarious! LOL), and "The Passing Zone" (two jugglers who are also comedians).
"Celtic Spring", Taylor Ware, Bianca Ryan, "The Rappin' Granny", and "The Passing Zone" have all made it to the finals, by the way. Just thought you'd like to know that, in case you were interested! :)
My daughter, Ronee', tried out for the show, but she didn't make it. She got too nervous beforehand during the (local) auditions and threw up on the stage. Of course, she was morified, but she realizes that it just wasn't meant to be. She still enjoys the show, though, and so do we (for the most part, that is).
Guess what!! We have some great news regarding the little boy from Israel we are interested in adopting: little Gabriel Abrahiam is to be ours! OURS!! Oh, God, be thanked!! We will now have fifty-five children in our family come December (though there are indications that he may come earlier, thanks to all the unrest currently happening in Israel). We are beyond excited; the children are already looking forward to their little brother's arrival into the family! :)
Johnny is at camp now: he comes back later today. We will be so glad to see him; we have missed his little face around these parts, and the house isn't the same without his cheery nature! Hopefully he is having a wonderful time at MD camp! I know "Ginger", his helping dog, will go into convulsions of joy when she sees her young master! :)
The weather here is hot today: nothing new here; typical summertime weather in the South. But areas that don't need the rain are getting dumped on while areas that are starving for moisture get nothing to speak of. Crazy weathertime patterns a goin' on here...Speaking of weather, Tropical Chris is gasping for air as he heads to the Gulf; chances don't look good for further development; but you never know with those things...time for the Gulf Coast States to keep an open eye to the waters with Chris lurking about.
Look what happened last year with Hurricnes Rita, Wilma, and (gasp) Katrina. They decimated a good portion of the Gulf Coast, and they are still in disrepair; it will be years for them to rebuild to the former glories that they had!
Such a shame, such an awful shame! I still cry whenever I think of those poor, elderly, and disabled people who lost everything they had! They had nothing to begin with; they now have absolutely nothing, and nobody is willing to help them or give them a second chance at life! That is what makes the whole situation so hard to swallow!
Well, I am going to let this go now. I am going to head on over to the feedin' hole that they call the cafeteria and get my "grub face on"! LOL I am HONGRY!! LOL My tummy is reallly talkin' to me this morning--I knew I should have had something more than a bagel and a cup of Community Louisiana roasted coffee this morning before I left.! LOL

Poor Opri and his poor family, terrible news! At least the fact that the sweet little Gabriel is to become a family member will cheer up things a little! A great entry,
