Dear All!
This is your friend, Louie. We are on our way back home to Tennessee; we spent the last two weeks in Alaska, where we went on a cruise.
As you can imagine, we had a wonderful time, but then last night, I got sick, and I feel awful today! I just pray and hope my dear hubby, my parents, or my kids don't get the galloping crud, as I have named this nasty virus! I have been having diarrhea and have been vomiting, and I don't know when I spent more time in the bathroom! Sheesh!
Bill wanted to take me to the doctor yesterday, but it was Sunday, so I told him I'd wait until tomorrow (Tuesday). If I don't feel any better, then a trip to my doctor is in order. I didn't go to church yesterday because I felt so bad, but the rest of the family went, leaving me with several hours of the opportunity to rest (that was wonderful, but I had to hit the bathroom every so often; that was not pleasant!). If I don't feel any better by tomorrow, then I am calling in sick at work. I was hoping to go back to work, but now it doesn't seem like it is in the cards.
We went to the Alaska Zoo and the Native Heritage Center both in Anchorage, and we also saw a movie about the northern lights; it was truly spectacular. We also saw the northern lights for real, and we were in awe of their glorious spectacle. They were quite bright, and my kids were in rapture over the sight of the multicolored ribbons dancing in the Arctic sky. We saw Jenna and Michael (met little Mattaq too; what a little cutie he is!!), and Jenna and Michael, in kind, met our newest adopted child, Gabriel, from Israel. They were smitten with him on the spot. We even saw Sikik Eegeesiak, which was a pleasant surprise; we were not expecting to see her at all because she lives way up north in Barrow! She looked terrific!
I saw Susie Jackson in the hospital while we were in San Francisco; she looked horrible, and she has been through so much in her young life! I pray she makes it! The doctors have ruled out necrotizing fasciitis, but she had to have a complete hysterectomy, which is almost unheard of in someone so young (Susie is only twelve years old) because the infection was so bad. She faces a very long and hard recovery, and poor Audrey, her mamma, looks so worn out! I feel sorry for her!
Well, I will go for now. I am going to lie down and try to get some more sleep before the plane lands in Nashville; then I will probably sleep some more when I crawl into my nice, warm bed~ LOL I know my little Pomeranian, "Cajun Gold", will probably go bonkers upon seeing me; it always happens, even when I go to work or to the store. She acts like she hasn't seen me in years! LOL
Take care, dear friends, and I will try to get started on my e-mails (but don't hold your breath; the way I am feeling now, it will be a miracle if I get going on them! I am so far behind; when I checked my e-mail box, I had 2,000 e-mails in my box! Sheesh!! LOL) God bless!
It never ceases to amaze me, how you so readily incorporate all these lives into a single letter!
As I read, I think of how true it is, that life has constant battles and challenges...intermingled, with others' constant battles and challenges... and I think, how grateful we can all be, for a Creator who cares FOR us! And for a writer, such as yourself, who can bring all that understanding, so clearly to the surface!
Another beautiful work, Sister.
Big Hugs& Love to you, Rhonda
An excellent story, and I'm glad the Sandusky family (all one million of 'em LOL) had a good time in Alaska. Now, this creepy crud...hope she feels better (and you, too!).
