Louisiana is feeling better, but not well enough to return to work. She is taking advantage of the peace and quiet by writing on her laptop while lying in bed.
I am feeling better too, thank the Lord! :) Thanks for all the prayers; they sure did help! :)

Dear Journal~
I am feeling better (though not much). Still, any improvement is better than none at all, so I am grateful for it. :)
I went to see the doctor yesterday afternoon at one, and after he examined me, he concluded that all I had was a simple stomach virus that was going around. (No kidding.) He gave me some Imodium AD for my diarrheal attacks, and he gave me a shot of Dilaudid for the nausea. So far, it's helped: I haven't gone to the restroom; I've been able to stay in bed.
I feel like a dishrag that's been wrung out repeatedly. I have absolutely no energy, and it doesn't take much for me to get tired to the point of falling asleep.
My dear husband has been a saint in keeping the children out of my hari, and he has taken liberty to sleeping in one of the spare bedrooms (so he doesn't catch my virus). I do miss feeling his warm, strong body next to mine, but it's better than him coming down with this cruddy virus!
The children (bless their dear hearts!) have been quieter than usual upon their arrival home from school. I know they are worried about their poor, sick mamma; I do, however, appreciate their trying to cope with my being unable to care for them at this time.
Their daddy (plus my folks) have been doing a super job filling my shoes, and so far, the kids made me a huge "get-well" card, with all their names affixed to it. It's now on the wall, where I can see it. At the sight of it, my eyes fill with tears, and my heart overflows with the blessings that God has brougtht to our lives.
I called work today to let them know how my appointment went; my boss said that I should stay home until next week. He was glad I was feeling better, but he said the gang missed me. "The place just isn't the same without you, Louie", was what he told me on the phone. He told me to take care of myself and get plenty of rest to get my strength back up.
I was going to see if I could get motivated in answering some of my million (and one) e-mails, but no luck. My fingers don't want to work right, and I am still feeling pretty lousy. Maybe I'll do it later this week while the children are at school. Maybe I'll even get back to my adoption community, to see what is new with my friends (and, at the same time, let them know how our cruise to Alaska went). In the meantime, I'll stick to journaling. I can take my time, and if I get tired, I can always come back to it later.
Am going to get some shut eye now; so goodnight.
~Louie.

Dear Journal~
I just woke up from a wonderful two hour nap. Man, that Dilaudid must be some strong stuff: I was having some bizarre dreams! LOL I do feel more rested, though, so that's good.
Maybe this virus was God's Way of telling me to slow down. I know I have been running at breakneck speed, and He gave me this virus as a way to slow down. I thought the Alaska cruise would do the trick, but apparently it didn't. It was on the last day of the cruise when I first got sick; by the time I flew home to Nashville, I was in agony, and I am sure I had a lot of people wondering what on earth was going on with me. I was bent over with terrible stomach pains, and I was throwing up, and it was everything I could do to find a bathroom that was close by before there was an ugly incident on the floor (and on myself). It was awful!!
My husband thought it was something I ate while in Alaska (Montezuma's Revenge, perhaps? Nawww, not in Alaska! LOL), but the doctor said that it was a common stomach virus that's been going around. He said that quite a few people around Nashville have been hit by this bug, but as bad as I felt, he said it could have been worse: I could have ended up in the hospital (some people did).
Well, my mind just blanked out again (stupid Dilaudid!), so I'll go now. In the meantime, I'll curl up with a good book and read until sleep overtakes me again. Maybe I can even talk my dear husband into making me a bowl of hot Campbell's chicken noodle soup. Yeah, that sounds good. They say chicken soup's the best when you are sick.
Karen this is a great write as always, I hope she is getting better by the day, and I am glad you are better Karen, write on and be blesssed
God Bless
Michelle~
Louie's had the squirts! LOL *sorry, couldn't resist* Still and all, she needs a break--from work, from the million (and two) e-mails, from the kids...just hope they don't come down with it, can you imagine? 55 kids all needing the bathroom at once...GAD. I don't even want to THINK about it! *p-yew!!* LOL Still and all, Karen, an excellent journal entry, well done. And glad YOU'RE feeling better, too.
