Dear Eileen Marie~
Howdy! This is your friend, Louisiana Sandusky! I want to thank you for writing to me while I was on the cruise to Alaska with my family; I got it while I was on the ship, and I didn't get to respond to it until now. Sorry about that.
Then I got sick Sunday night, and right now I am feeling better, but I feel weaker than a kitten, and it doesn't take long for me to tire out whenever I do something. My husband and the children have been a big help, as have my parents, and I appreciate that, I really do! I am such a fortunate woman to have the family I do!
I had a nasty stomach virus that caused explosive, violent diarrheal attacks and vomiting, and it left me feeling lousy. I don't know where I picked it up, but I sure wish I could give it back! LOL I have been careful on what I am eating, and since getting the Dilaudid and the Imodium AD, I have been doing better. Still, it is going to be a little bit before I am back to speed.
I have missed the last four days at work, but my bosses understood, so they told me not to come back until I recovered. Not going to look that good on my paycheck though. *siggggggggh* I just hope and pray that my family doesn't fall prey to this virus; that would be the last thing I would need!
How is the weather there in Texas? How is your family? Hope all is well there. Fall has finally come to Nashville: the trees are becoming ablaze with color, and the hills surrounding the city are too. Very pretty this time of year; I love fall! I love the crisp, cool nights and the warm, pleasant days, and I love watching the birds flying south for the winter and watching the little animals scurrying about to get ready for winter!
Do you know what you are going to do for Thanksgiving yet? We are probably going out to eat at Golden Corral, which we do every year, with the family. Of course, they may not like having to wait on a party of our size, but that is something we can't help. We have to eat somewhere, you know. So far, they have been good to us, but I am sure the poor employees don't appreciate the extra dishes or the cooking! As for Christmas, that is still up in the air right now, but I am sure that it won't be long before the kids start dreaming about what they want for Christmas and telling us their Christmas lists!
As for Hallowe'en, we don't really celebrate it. We never have. Instead, our church has a Harvest Festival, and the kids do dress up like other children do on Hallowe'en, but where we go is more Christian-based, and it is a lot of fun. I do hope that if you celebrate Hallowe'en, that you have a good one, and a safe one!
The only thing I worry about Hallowe'en are the pranks played on by kids (or even older people), and small pets, particularly white or black cats or dogs, are especially vulnerable. I don't have a cat, but I do have a little dog (Pomeranian), and she is a lovely shade of orangey-gold, really pretty. I worry that someone may try to harm her on Hallowe'en, so I keep her inside, and I keep her away from the door when the kids come for their tricks and treats. Otherwise she would bark, and she might turn nasty; don't want to take that chance, you know??
That is another reason why I don't care for Hallowe'en. Too many crazy people out there; you don't know what they're apt to do!
