We’re coming up on Feral Cat Day! So – leave it to PetsWeekly to celebrate a little early. Feral Cat Day is October 16, and we’re very excited about all of the events that correlate to this unique day. But, that’s not the only animal day this month! October is filled with unique days! Check these out:
October is “Adopt a Shelter Dog” Month! So get on over to your local animal shelter and adopt a best friend!
October is also “Cut Out Dissection” Month! Want to find out ways to stop dissection in your schools? Check out this great site!
October is also National Animal Safety and Protection Month! It’s our duty to protect our pets, so get creative and do some research – there are some fantastic ways we can help our animals and that includes voting!
The first week of October is Animal Welfare Week! This fits right in with all of our other days, so lets get out there and spread the word about helping those who can’t themselves!
The second week of October is National Squirrel Week! OK – I know that sounds odd, but squirrels are animals too, you know! Didn’t you see Open Season? As it happens, this week corresponds with National Veterinary Technician Week, so send your favorite Vet Tech some puppy bones, or something a little more palatable to a human. They deserve it! That’s not all – this same week is National Wildlife Refuge Week and you can help by contacting your local wildlife refuge and donating a few hours of your life.
The third week of October is Wolf Awareness Week! Take some time to learn about these beautiful creatures and how we can help them make a comeback!
