Saturday, October 7, 2006, nearly noon (and almost time for the RedRiver Shootout, which is a huge football game between rivals the Oklahoma Sooners and the Texas Longhorns)~

Dear Louie~

I am sitting here in the livingroom, waiting for the football game to start up. My husband and his friends are in the livingroom, and I have them very well supplied with beer, Cokes, and snacks. (Hopefully Texas will come out on top! They are playing at the State Fair of Texas, and it is perfect football weather: pristine blue skies, lower humidity, highs expected not to get out of the mid eighties--nice! :))

I will try to watch the game and write to you. Maybe I am crazy, but I am a football fan myself. I love the Dallas Cowboys (though so far, they aren't doing that well; I hope and pray things turn around, or the coach may be on his rear come the end of the season), and I love my Texas Longhorns! When they won last year, all of Texas went ballistic, and we had a celebration for our football heroes. I went to the festivities, and I had a ball! I got a lot of the Longhorns memorabelia before they ran out, so I guess in that regard, I was very lucky! :)

Alriiiiiiiiiight!! Game time!!! The stadium is filled to the gills with frenzied football fanatics from both rival Oklahoma and of course, us from Texas!  I hope it is a good one; it promises to be, from what I heard! :)

I hope you are feeling tons better by the time you get this. That virus doesn't sound like something I would want!  Wow! I am sorry you were so sick! I am doing well, and so is the family! We all have our game faces on, and we are ready!! for!! some!! football!!!! :) GO, Longhorns!! You can do it again, just like you did last year!! :)

I am glad your husband and kids didn't get struck down with the virus. For that, I would call you most fortunate indeed! There is nothing worse than a housefull of sick kids (or a sick "baby"--hubby--) to tend to! It is worse when mamma gets it; then it's a  real thrill! NOT! LOL

It is beautiful here in Texas: fall has finally decided to make her entrance down here, and the highs for the next few days are projected to be in the eighties, followed by even cooler weather, with highs not getting out of the seventies or sixties! Ahh, that is gonna' feel so darn niiiiiiiiiiiiiice! *doing my bet Texas drawl* LOL After the long, hot, dry summer, we are more than ready for relief from this killer heat that had its deadly grip on us for over six months or so (or at least it seems that way---)! How is the weather there in Tennessee? Hope it is as beautiful there as it is here in the Lone Star State! :)

On Monday, hubby, the kids, and myself are going to the Texas State Fair in Dallas. It's a very long standing tradition, and it is one of the biggest state fairs in the nation. We have gone several times in the past, and we always have the best time, but it would be better if the kids would stay off some of those killer diller rides! I don't know how they can ride those things; I look at them, and all I can think of is that I have put their lives into the hands of a complete stranger who is bent on insanity. They purposely jack up the speed of the rides, and it is enoght to make me ill! No, I thinks I'll keep my feet on the ground, thankyewverymuch! I am way pat the carnival rides stage!

Now, hubby, he will ride some of the rides, but as for me, I'd just assume to park myself on a bench and watch the other people at the fair. You see so many interesting characters at the fair it is unreal! But it is a lot of fun; I enjoy it!  :)

Well, I am going to get to the game, so I will go for now. Take care, Louie, and write soon! I'll let you know the outcome (good or bad) regarding the huge football rivalry between the Sooners and the Longhorns! (Hopefully it will be in the Longhorn's favor. Goooooo, TEXAS!! Goooooo, Longhorns! Hook those Sooners, and stuff them back to Oklahoma! Wheee! LOL)
