Dearest Naomi, Micah, and Family~
I am crying so hard now I can hardly see what I am typing. I am terribly sorry about the devastating news concerning little Daniella's death!
I guess God had a reason for this, but it is still shattering, nevertheless. It doesn't make it any easier; I wanted to write to you to lend my support and my deepest sympathies on your loss. The entire Sandusky family grieves along with me, and I personally wish that the outcome could have been far different.
I have already called for a child's funeral bouquet to be sent to you, and I have alerted my church. Everyone at Christ Community Assembly of God is as shocked, horror-stricken, and upset as I am.
Ever since I first heard of the news, all I have been doing is crying. In fact, I ended up leaving work earlier than expected yesterday so I could attend to the affairs. My mind has been a whirlwind of emotion, and right now I am numb with shock.
Unfortunately, due to prior commitments, I will be unable to fly out to be with you in your time of grief, but I want to let you know that our family will be with you in spirit. I hope you understand. I do wish we can come, but unfortunately, we are unable to.
I am terrified to tell Johnny, for fear this will be detrimental to his health; but my heart breaks when I see his sad face. He hasn't smiled that much since this happened, and I know the time will come where I will have to tell him the truth--but right now is not a good time. It is a very difficult, heartwrenching decision.
Besides the floral arrangement, I am sending you some cash (I think you will need it) and a sympathy card signed with all our names.
Honey, if you don't want to write to me right away, I can understand, but you can call me anytime, day or night. Even if it is just to vent or cry, I will listen. That is a promise. Right now you and your family need your grieving time, and you need to be there for your family.
Please do take care of yourselves, know you are in our hearts and prayers, and know that God will get you through this tumultuous time in your lives.
I love you, Naomi. Again, I am truly sorry in your the loss of your precious angel, Daniella. She touched my heart in the short time I knew her, and she will never be forgotten!
~With deepest sympathy,
Your friends in Tennessee, The Sandusky Family. :( >tears!<
