Ronee' tries to offer her grieving California friend some support.

Saturday, October 14, 2006, 10:12 a.m., D.S.T., Nashville, Tennessee~

Dear Rebekkah Rachel~

I am grieving right along with you. I can't believe that such a horrible thing  has  happened; you guys have already been through so much, and now this. It kinda' makes one wonder what is wrong with a person to have so many bad things happen.

I will miss Daniella too. She was a cute little kid, and I find it hard to believe that some bad people would want to kill her like they did. It doesn't make any sense at all!

I guess God had His reason for taking her Home, but it doesn't make it easier. I know. I have lost a little cousin, Cajun Marie, almost two years ago (it will be two years on December 4 of this year), and I miss her even now. She was my daddy's brother's daughter, and she had an awful lot of health problems. I also lost a grandma to brain cancer; I am very familiar with losing a loved one.

Many people are going through with what you are right now; you certainly aren't alone. I did get over the grief in time, but it took a while, and it helped to talk about it and  write. I guess this is why I am able to handle things  when they happen, but at first, it always leaves me reeling.

You will probably go through the normal grieving process. You will get mad, and you will try to barter with God to see why this had to happen. You will also feel that your sister's death was your fault, and you will feel extremely depressed. You will have days when all you can do is cry, but in time, the pain lessens, and eventually, you will find your life back in order. It is okay to do all of these things in the grief  process; after all, everyone will go through it in life.

If you ever need to talk, you can e-mail me, or you can call me on my phone in the evening (we are home most evenings except on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays due to church happenings). If you miss my call, I will get back to you; just leave me a message, and we will talk. Does that sound okay?

I wanted to write to let you know that you are in my prayers, and I hope that things will improve for you. I love you, Rebekkah! Take care, and may God be with you during this time of loss. May He give you a sense of peace and comfort that passes all understanding!

((((HUGS)))

~As always, your friend, Ronee' Le-Anne Reaux. :( >tears!<

Sympathy, empathy, love, support, guidance, concern... so much here to make an impossible-to-handle situation seem at least ultimately transformable. You are so gifted at seeing all sides and being able to effectively communicate what it is like to be on the receiving end of the good and the bad. Sage wisdom and advice, too. You are for certain sure a friend indeed to the friend in need, Karen. LOL and bless you, Kate xx

The support and compassion of a good friend is always a blessing, even when nothing is asked of the friend just knowing they are there is a comfort.
