Louisiana writes to her friend in Lawrence, Kansas, Jerilyn Lotz, after Jerilyn writes her an e-mail.

Dear Jerilyn~
Thanks for writing; I am sorry for not writing sooner; it has been crazy around the Sandusky abode. With the holidays, having the kids home from college or out of state, and having two children in the hospital (one was in for a week and a half; the other, for nearly a month; they are better now and are home), well, I haven't had much time to write. I do hope you will forgive me.
We also have been trying to get the last of the paperwork together for the adoption agency; we are adopting four more children to the family: a little boy from Iraq (Emir Muhammed), a little boy from India (Vijay), a little girl from China (Mai Fong), and a little girl from Vietnam (Huong Vu). We have prayed long and hard over this, whether we should take in the children. God has impressed it upon our hearts to take these children in as our own; therefore, we will soon have fifty-nine Miracles in our ever-growing family!
We are excited at the additions, but at the same time, we are scared: some people have threatened us in the past, to have our children taken away from us, because they feel we have "too many". Maybe we do, but we have so much love in our hearts, and once we see their faces in photographs or on the computer screen, we cannot say no! And besides, one can't have "too many kids": as long as we are able to take care of them or love them as our own, then why should it matter? We aren't abusing them, and we aren't doing anything to bring harm or danger to them!
In addition to all this, I have been working oodles of extra hours; been pulling the night shift lately at the hospital. The pay is good, and it looks good on the ol' paycheck when I get paid! Bill had been working extra hours due to the Christmas holiday shopping season, but that is overwith now, and he is back to his regular schedule. He is glad of it; they really had him working hard!
Congrats on your book; I will have to read it when I get a copy (hint, hint!). I am working on a new book myself, another one about my exploits as a nurse, plus there will be stories from my co-workers. It is a sequel to my first nursing book. I will probably do another one about my family in the future. I am glad you wrote a poem about us; that was sweet!
How is the weather there in Kansas? Hear y'all have had a lot of snow (as has New Mexico and Colorado, and especially Colorado; they have gotten inundated with the white stuff!). Here we have had a lot of rain, but today it is sunshiney out, and it is cold. The kids are due back in school next week (Monday), they are making the most of what is left of their Christmas/New Year's break! :)
Speaking of Christmas and New Years, I hope y'all had a good one. We sure did; the kids made out like bandits in the gift department, and so did we. Santa left Bill and myself a plasma television and a M3P player. They are really nice; we are enjoying our new gifts very much! :)
Jeri, that is wonderful that you and your husband have made the decision to accept Christ as your Saviour! I am so happy for you! God is going to bring blessings upon you like you won't believe; sounds like He is already doing that! Good for you! :)
God has been blessing us ever since we first started adopting, and the blessings keep on comin'! :) I hope you have found a church by now; if you ever are in this neck of the woods, you are more than welcome to visit my church, Christ Community, which is a nondenominational church. People of all faiths and nationalities are welcome to come; we will gladly have you! :) Our church is spirit-filled, and we definitely believe in the Good Book! :) We are a family-oriented church: there are many people with families, and many have young children.
Well, Jeri, I will go for now. The kids are due to have lunch within the hour; have to make their lunch before they start screaming for food! LOL Take care, and God bless you always! Again, congrats on your book!

Fifty nine kids, dang girl Louisiana could open her own school, this is a gret write though, from a caring heart, write on and be blessed in the writing

Another nice letter written here, Karen. I particularly enjoyed reading the bit about Jerilyn and her hubby accepting Jesus. Excellent touch here, K. There are a lot of positives shared with Jeri. Keep that up...it is uplifting and encouraging, not only to you, but also to your readers.
i don't know how louisiana does it; she must have a world of love in her heart, to take in children that are considered unadoptable. if more people felt like this..........beautifully moving, compassionate letter, well done!
