Dear Kendra Mae~

Congratulations, Kendra; that is wonderful news! So you are getting married! How terrific! :)

Unfortunately, seeing it is such short notice, we will be unable to come out there for the wedding. I hope you understand. However, we are sending y'all a card ("and a little something"; hope y'all can put it to good use!), which is on its way to you; we mailed it the other day. Be on the lookout for it!

I'm glad your brood is doing well, likewise for Susie Jackson (though I was sorry to learn she needs a trache tube to breathe) and Rebekkah Cohen (sorry she can't use her prosthetic legs yet, but if I know her, she'll put her wheelchair to good use and will be a little terror in it! LOL). Sounds like life has been treating them (fairly) well; that is so good to hear! :) As for us, we are doing great!! :)

In fact, in a little less than two weeks from now, our four newest Miracles will be arriving. We can't wait!! We have been busy getting the house ready; now the question of the day is" "When are they coming? When will they get here?" The kids are all so excited!! :)

We are planning to keep the boys' names "as is", but as for the girls, we have already decided to "Americanize" their names. Huong Vu will be known as Emma-Ruth, and Mai Fong's name will be Opal Lee. Too many times we have had confusion over the pronunciation of the children's names; we want to spare them any embarrassment.

I have been pulling in lots of extra hours at the hospital: been working nights and quite a few double shifts. (It looks great on the paycheck, but it sure is murder on the ol' bod!! WHEE!) I have been working in the ER (my usual "home"), as well as the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU), which is where I have been spending my time for the past few weeks. It is very challenging, and we have to keep on our toes to make sure the patients have a sporting chance of making it without any complications. It does give me lots of incentives, though, for my story ideas: I am thinking of doing another book about my nursing escapades; I have so many stories to tell it's unreal!!

Heard y'all have been getting some much-needed rain there; here it's been warm and dry one day, wet or cold the next: very unpredictable weather. Then people wonder why they keep getting things like the flu or the common cold: go figure!! We are due for some winter weather by the time Valentine's Day rolls around. Crazy weather here! Yikes!!

Well, Kendra, I will let you go; I am going to grab myself a quick one before I lose any chance of eating altogether; otherwise, I wouldn't be able to eat until suppertime!
