Bill writes of the rain the city is getting, the anticipated arrival of four new children into the family, his ailing back, and other news.

Dear Journal~
This is Bill Sandusky writing. I'm afraid that I am not in the best of moods: I threw my back out this morning when I attempted to lift Arjun, our youngest child, out of his crib; I'm now lying in bed, on my side, trying to get my back to calm down somewhat. Louisiana has tried to give me relief, but I'm getting tired of her nagging me to go to the doctor's about my back.
I know she is a nurse and that she is concerned about my welfare (plus she's had back surgery); she forgets that I have had back surgery (three times); none of it's really done any good. I'm still in misery, and still in as much pain as I was before I had them done! No more. Tired of doctors, hospitals, I'V.'s, pain, pain meds that weird me out, all that jazz--again,: NO MORE.
The weather certainly doesn't help matters: rain, rain, more rain, due to change into snow tonight; we may get anywhere from two to four inches. Great. And I work tomorrow if my back feels any better (I somehow doubt it will, I just hurt it this morning). If not, I'm calling in; plus it is hard for me to maneuver on crutches in snow! Crutches were not made for walking in snow!
Yet in all this misery regarding my health and the weather, there is a ray of hope: later this week (Friday), we will be adding to the family. No, Louisiana hasn't suddenly gotten pregnant: we are adopting four new children into our International Family. We are adopting a boy (5) from India (Habir Vijay, who will probably be called Vijay for short), another boy (Emir Muhammed), who is only one year old, and two little girls (ages 5 and 8) from China (Opal Lee)and Vietnam (Emma-Ruth). We will soon have fifty-nine children!
As you can tell, we are excited beyond belief. We have been getting the house ready for our new children to be (that was, until I threw my back out, darn it!). The kids are asking when the new children are coming; I keep telling them they'll be here Friday afternoon sometime. Louie has taken a week off from work so she can be with the new children; I know they will probably be scared to death! She is really good at calming new arrivals into the family, better than I ever could be!
Heard on the news this morning of the shootings in Philadelphia, Pennsyvlania, and in Salt Lake City, Utah. Crazy. Sad how bad this old world is getting; this is when you wish that prayer was brought back into the homes and schools; none of this crazy madness would be going on, that is for darn sure! I cried when I heard of the news.
Then this morning Louisiana (Westwego, which is near New Orleans) got smacked by a tornado; an eighty-six year old woman died in the storm; maybe more dead. It's a possibility. More tornadoes expected across eastern Louisiana, and along Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, and Florida. which is still reeling from the recent tornado outbreak that hit only a few weeks back. More reason to pray for those poor, unfortunate people who were affected.
As if that isn't enough, the Midwest is getitng pounded by a blizzard, a blizzard that may dump as much as ten to eighteen inches of snow in places; the storm will migrate to the east, and New York, which has already had over 100 INCHES of snow due to lake effect conditions, is expected to get more in the way of the white stuff. CRAZY weather we are having here in the U.S. of A.! We will get snow too here, but nothing, nothing like the Midwest or the East Coast!
Arjun is awake now: Louisiana has awakened him from his nap, and she is now giving him a bath. I hear the water running, and I hear Arjun laughing merrily. She will then fix him his favorite lunch, which is a peanut butter-and-jelly sandwich and a cup of juice in his Sippy-Cup. For dessert, he will have either a banana or a fruit cup.
The other kids are at school; they will probably be home tomorrow, thanks to the snow we are due to get here. They will be glad of that--that is, excepting for Ronee', who absolutely HATES to miss ANY school! To her, school is as important as BREATHING!!
Well, this is it for now, Journal. I will write in here again. I will have to go to the store later on, to get my Cajun honey a Valentine's Day card, and perhaps some chocolates or some roses; she deserves something special, and I am more than ready to proclaim my continuing love for her! She puts the zing into my step, and she makes life meaningful for me. I am so blessed to have Louisiana in my life, and she is everything I could ever want in a woman! :)
A great posting of Bills journal. I relly don't know how you keep all your characters straight. The things you write about are not repetative.........M
You do all these journals so well. The creative juice keeps swimming there in your brain everyday. You can write out these stories so effortlessly. Wonderful gifted talents indeed!!!!!

I can relate to that, and I hope your back feels better soon, Bill - you might need it to shovel all that snow. We are getting pounded right now - and I keep delaying going outside to shovel it. My back will probably feel just like yours, by tonight.
