Louisiana Sandusky shares more thoughts, among them the severe weather threat, more stories about her (newest adopted) children, and how her day at work went.

Thursday, March 1, 2007, 2:07 p.m., C.S.T., Nashville, Tennessee~

Dear Journal~

I am writing this now before the weather turns nasty: we are currently under a tornado watch until six this evening, our time. There are nasty storms west and south of the Nashville metropolitan area, migrating this way. There are supercell thunderstorms, lines of them, and they mean business. I currently have the Weather Channel on, and I am keeping tabs on the developing weather situation.

I just hope the kids get home before the storms move in! I heard on the Weather Channel that a high school in Alabama was heavily damaged and that there were people there and they may be trapped. Not good, especially since I am a mamma and I am a world-class worrywart!

Right now, the weather isn't too bad: it's just cloudy; but you can hear rumbles of thunder off in the distance and see occasional flashes of lightning (particularly to the south). I will be getting off the computer if it turns any nastier!

Well, I had a good day at work: it was busy in the E.R. Saw lots of people with broken bones, sprains/strains, people with the flu or the common cold, colicky babies, convulsing children (with high fevers), several asthma and heart attacks, and a guy who was stabbed with a golf club in the bicep after a friend and he got into a fight at the golf course. Interesting story there, folks! LOL You see some mighty interesting stuff in the E.R.; the E.R. is never boring!!

Well, Emma-Ruth and Opal are working on improving their limited English skills; they are getting used to their new home here in America. They are beautiful girls, and I love them so much already, even though they have only been with us for a short while. As for the boys, it isn't hard to fall in love with Emir: he is a baby after all, and I love breathing in his baby smell and taking care of his needs! Habir Vijay (probably going to be called Vijay for short) has bonded with his new little brother Arjun: the two of them are best pals, and they are always together.

Ah, good! The buses are arriving. Will have to go now; be back in a little while!

~Louie. :)

Same day, later on (4:15 p.m., C.S.T., March 1)~

Dear Journal~

The kids are home; they are worried about the darkening skies. The supercells are knocking on our back door; the winds are picking up considerably, you can hear the booming thunder and see the frequent flashes of lightning on a regular basis now, and the tornado sirens are probably going to be going off shortly. Just what we don't need: severe weather! I guess that means that I will be herding the children (and Bill) to the safe room ensconced in our basement! Don't know how long we'll be there; I'll write more when the severe weather passes (sometime this evening, according to the latest weather information).

Lord, I hope we don't get any ugly weather here! I hate storms with a purple passion!! I just hope we all make it through this latest round in one piece!

~Louie. :(
