Dear Journal~
Lots of excitement here last evening: Johnny, my son, had to be rushed by ambulance to the hospital because he had a severe seizure. He kept having one seizure after another, and we knew it was bad when he wouldn't stop convulsing (plus his face was awfully blue). Usually, his seizures last only for about a minute or so; the one he had last night went on for over a half hour. He finally stopped seizing in the ER, only because the ER team gave him powerful drugs to stop it.
I never was so terrified as I was last night. It has been about three months since Johnny was last in the hospital, and it has been even longer than that since he had his last seizure. I think the stress of his girlfriend being shot brought it on; anyway, it was scary for everyone, and I never felt as helpless as I did when I watched the paramedics tending to Johnny before they put him in the rear of the ambulance.
Johnny is now in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, hooked up to tubes and monitoring equipment. They have him knocked out, so he can rest. I just talked with the neurosurgeon, and he says that Johnny is holding his own. He did not suffer any brain damage, which is nothing short of a miracle, so that is the best news I've had since all of this happened!
In other news, Kendra is pregnant, which is a big deal because she is in a wheelchair. She has spina bifida. Doctors didn't think she could ever have children of her own, so she started adopting (mostly girls), but now she is pregnant, and her family is wild with joy! She just got married too, so good things are definitely coming to the Williams/Kent family! :)
Kendra and her new husband, Michael, are also adopting. They are going to adopt twin seven-year-old girls from Africa, and they are as cute as buttons. They look like two peas in a pod; they look exactly alike!
Speaking of adoption, we are getting ready to add to the family ourselves: we are adopting a little three-year-old boy named Bjorn Wilhem, who is from Finland. Bjorn is healthy enough, but he is blind and deaf, and he is a handful, according to the adoption agency we are working with. We have a picture of little Bjorn, and he looks like Johnny did when he was little: the same white flyaway hair, the same penetrating turquoise-blue eyes. He is absolutely beautiful!
Bjorn will be arriving within the next several months to a year; it may be sooner than that. We will just have to wait and see. We are all excited, and we are all counting the days to when little Bjorn will join our International Family. :)
We will soon have a mind-blowing sixty children in our family. Hard to believe, but it's true ! :)
Rebekkah Rachel had a bad day yesterday, according to Naomi, her mother. Rebekkah and her sister Maddie were shot a little over a week ago walking home from church, and they were severely injured. Maddie may have brain damage, and Rebekkah Rachel is now a quadriplegic; she will never walk again unless God sees to it. It will take a miracle. Rebekkah yelled at her therapists, and she is severely depressed.
We will have to add Rebekkah to the prayer chain at church; I have been keeping Pastor Bilkey updated about Rebekkah's family.
Ronee' is depressed, too; she is mainly worried about Johnny (we all are), but she is also worried about the Cohen girls. I keep telling her that all we can do is pray, and she just snaps at me, saying that she doesn't want to pray, she is angry at God for allowing this to happen. Ronee' has always had a sensitive spirit about her, and when her friends or family is hurt in any way, she suffers right along with them.
I am worried about Ronee' too. I think I may have her see a child psychologist, to help her sort out her feelings; it will be good for her (not to mention us; that way, she won't bounce off us as much). I will have to see if I can find one---
Well, this is about it for now. If anything changes, I will surely let you know. Until later, Journal, this is Louie signing off!
Am glad Johnny pulled through the seizures alright.. That happened to our oldest son , when he was 8 months old. He ended up with brain damage..Your stories seem so real!..M

Once again your use of the journal writing certainly helps Louie vent his thoughts. Your work is great!
So much to deal with: are you sure Louisiana wants to (needs to) add more stress to the family? I couldn't do it--as Tinka said, only a very strong person would be able to do it, with God's help. I'd a gone crazy a loooooooooooooooooooong time ago. :) Still and all, an excellent journaling, and glad that Johnny is holding his own. Don't you dare kill him off--!! LOL Enough sadness in this bunch. LOL
