Dear Journal~

This past week has been a tumultuous one for our family: so many highs and lows. I'm dizzy from all what has happened; it's hard to believe that my son Johnny is doing so much better than he was just a few days ago, and things are finally starting to look up for the Cohen family.

Johnny is still in the hospital; he had a seizure a few days ago, a bad one, but he is going to be fine. No brain damage, no permanent effects. That is great news all around, but I think I have aged twenty years; I suddenly feel as old as the hills--

And to top it off, Kendra, our friend in California, is pregnant and is adopting twin girls from Africa!

I don't know if my mind can take any more news; it's all newsed out...LOL

Louie, my wife, has recovered from her sinus infection/migraine headache, but she is going like sixty; she is going to wear herself out soon if she doesn't be careful. I don't know how she keeps going; she is just a bundle of nervous kinetic energy; must be the Cajun in her...LOL

Between working at the hospital, spending time at Johnny's bedside (at the hospital), and taking care of Da Mob (us), she manages to squeeze in computer time, writing, writing, just writing her fool head off. She is working on yet another book, and she just. never. stops! It's dizzying to watch her; she flits about like a tiny hummingbird!

We are getting ready to add our sixtieth child to the family; he'll be here within a few months or so. As I allluded to you earlier, the child's name is Bjorn Wilhem, and he was born hearing-impaired and blind. Quite a lot for a little one to have to endure; according to the adoption agency we are working with, Bjorn is  a little on the wild side; with love and support, he should settle down.  Oh, joy. LOL Just what we need: another hyperactive kid! LOL

The adoption bug has bitten many of our friends: Kendra is adding to the family (twin girls from Africa, both seven, going to be known as Gemini and Jenna), Naomi Cohen has adopted several new ones and may add to the family again, and my friend/co-worker, Freddie Reichard, is adding to his family as well. A little girl from Ethiopia.

Babies, babies everywhere: our friend Sari in Finland had her second child, a boy named Erik Karlssenn, and now we find out that Jenna in Alaska is pregnant; she is due in September. They don't know yet what the baby is, but they already have a little boy, Mattaq, who will be a year old in May.

Our daughter, Lightning, is pregnant (again), as is our daughter, Dwerlina (first one for her), so we will be adding some more grandkids to the family.

As you can imagine, both Louie and myself are estatic! More grandkids to get to know and love (not to mention, spoil! LOL)!

Must be something in the water or something--

I just hope Louie doesn't end up pregnant; that would be world-class headlines after adopting sixty kids! LOL

Well, I gotta' run; have to get my little woman and the kids up; we are going to go out for breakfast in an hour (try having sixty plus people ready in time for breakfast by seven thirty--impossible!!); we want to be out the door by seven thirty if we are to make it to church for the 9:00 service.
