Dear Journal~
I am sitting here; just clocked out for my hour-long lunch break. I am sitting in my office, enjoying the peace and quiet, before I go to eat lunch in the cafeteria.
It's a slow day today; not much going on. I am working on the Pediatrics floor today; nice to see the kids. Johnny is still here, but he continues to improve rapidly; he should be released by Wednesday morning, if he continues at this pace. Good news. Johnny sure gave us a scare the other day! He is eating like a horse; he is back on a regular diet. He is off the liquids.
Johnny was in a better mood; he knows about Rebekkah, and he is slowly coming to grips with it. I think he got all his tears out of his system; he's had a tough time of it since finding out. I feel bad for keeping this from him, but as a mother, I feel it is my duty to protect him. Maybe I was wrong in doing this, I don't know, but somehow I feel like I was the one responsible for Johnny's seizure.
Little Bjorn will be joining us by May. I got an e-mail from our adoption attourney, and she says that the adoption has been cleared. Bjorn is on the brink of coming to America. After he is checked over by the medical team, he'll then be flown to Tennessee, where he will join our family. We are excited, yet nervous. I guess it is only natural.
Ronee' has her first psychiatric appointment this afternoon. She is feeling scared, but I tried to comfort her, told her that it was going to be okay; that the person would offer her suggestions on how to deal with inner feelings, and that she was only going there to talk, that there is no pain involved. Somehow, Ronee' wasn't convinced; she just gave me a look as if to say, "Yeah, right, Mom!"
Arjun bloodied his lip yesterday at church: he was running around the altar after service was over, and he fell and clipped his lip on the step. He screamed as blood spurted from his lip. He didn't need stitches, thank goodness, but he did cry hysterically until I held him; eventually, he quieted down. It scared him more than anything else; it also scared me and the other people nearest him.
I have gotten a letter from Audrey Callaway; come to find out she is pregnant. Kendra is pregnant too, and so are my daughters Dwerlina and Lightning. Must be something in the water; all these pregnancies all of a sudden! Babies, babies, babies everywhere!
Adoptions are also running rampant: Kendra is adopting twin girls, Jenna and Gemini, from Africa (they are seven), and we are adopting, and so are the Reichards. I wouldn't be surprised if I hear from more of my friends or that they are thinking of adding to the family!
Me thinks we started something here when we started adopting and I started this adoption community----*grins*
Dr. Wright, one of our anesthesiologists at the hospital, is also in the adoption game: he and his wife, Sarah, recently added a little boy from Africa who is in a wheelchair due to spina bifida: his name is Mwugu, and he is something like five years old. He is a cute little fellow; he is all eyes! The Wrights brought him to church for the first time yesterday, and he was the darling of everyone's eye. They cooed and ahhhed over him; all he did was stare at us like a miniture owl; it was adorable!
On top of that, Sarah may be pregnant: Wayne says she has nausea in the morning, but by the afternoon, early evening, she is then fine.
Sounds like being pregnant to meeeeeeeee---*grins*
We are working on our upcoming Easter Cantata; we are learning the music, and we are hoping for a good turnout. It is one of our main events at our church, and everyone has a good time worshiping and praising the Risen One. We will be having extra rehearsal days to make sure that we learn the music (or the speaking parts) effectively. We want to make sure all goes well, without any problems.
Let's hope that happens.
Well, I am going to run now; my belly is a rumbling, sounds like a thunderstorm in there. I am suddenly very hungry. Take care, and will write in here another day! Bye for now!
Hope Ronee' has positive results with her psychiatric appointment. Therapists know just the way to open one up as to their inner feelings. I remember in one of your letters last year about this time, Louisiana and her family were preparing for Easter Cantata. It's a spiritual time of the year for all religions. In my novel FROM THE CONVENT TO THE RAWHIDE: THE SAGA OF SADIE CADE AND VI MONTANA, Eastertide at the Pish Convent is a very special time when the pipe organ rains down on the jujube blossoms, filling the air inside the Church of Pish with the wonderful sound and scent of welcome.
