Louisiana is happy about the improvements Rebekkah Cohen and her sister Maddie are making, as well as improvements with Kendra's daughter, Kia, and the upcoming church Cantata for Easter, among other topics.

Dear Journal~

Sorry I didn't get to write in here until now, but I had to report to work; boss called me in, ended up working a double. I am on break now; just clocked out; have an hour to kill. :) (Better time to kill than patients, eh?  A little nursing humor here--very little! LOL)

Louie here. It's been crazy in the NICU. Very crazy! Baby Boy Gonzales decided to "crump" (deterioate); we managed to save his little butt, he's now in bad shape. He may not make it. The other little boy (Baby Boy Dominguez) is faring a little better. The baby girl (Baby Girl Moreaux) died yesterday; I am still sad about it. She was just too sick to survive on her own; had too many in the way of medical problems. Maybe it is for the best, but it is still hard to deal with.

I admitted a new little one to the Unit: a baby girl who was born with half a brain; she is seriously impaired; she may never have a normal life. She just lies there, in the Isolette, not seeing, not moving, not crying ('course she is wired to tubes and monitors); it's a sad situation. She may not make it either.

Very depressing when babies do poorly; they just have begun to live, and already life is throwing a curve ball at them; it's not fair! They didn't do anything to deserve all this suffering; yet there are terrorists and other baddies causing havoc for people, and nothing is being done to stop them. Crazy-ness!

Well, Rebekkah Cohen is doing much better. She is getting more in the way of movement back in her arms; she can now transfer from her wheelchair to her bed (and back again). She may never walk again or dance again, but her attitude is incredible: she has more courage in her little body than I do in my little finger! LOL She is amazing! Maddie, her sister, is doing better too: she is getting ready to be moved to the rehab center for therapy. Don't know when she is going to come back home, but at least she is making progress.

God has been answering our prayers left and right: first Rebekkah and Maddie, then Johnny (he is doing quite well for having a bad seizure; the new meds seem to be working beautifully), and now Jenna, one of my friends in Alaska. Jenna, who already has a little boy (almost a year; I thought he turned a year old  ysterday, but it turns out I am wrong: he doesn't turn one until the 12th; I looked it up on my birthday calendar! LOL), is pregnant with her second child (two months along). Jenna's attitude has improved 180 degrees since she accepted Christ into her heart, and the change in her is incredible. It's amazing!

Sari, my friend in Finland, had a little boy, Erik Karlssenn, as I told you a few days ago, and I just got another letter from her. The Constantinos bunch are doing well, and they will be going back to Greece (Nikolas' home country, where he was born) in May or June. They are waiting a little bit until tiny Erik is a little bit older. They will return back to Finland (Sari's home country) in the fall, before winter sets in.

Well, we are working on little Bjorn's room; we have it done in Winnie The Pooh fashion. What little kid can not resist Winnie The Pooh or his friends from the Hundred-Acre Woods: Owl, Piglet, even Eeyore, the moody blue donkey. :) Even Christopher Robin is well loved by kids, not just kids, but people of all ages! :) I bet he will love it once he arrives into our family! We can't wait until little Bjorn Wilhem comes! This is going to be sooo exciting! (Too bad he can't see the room, as he is blind, but he will soon learn the nuances that go along with his room, and he will soon identify that it is his room, nobody else's.)

Oh, dear. I am being paged to NICU; will have to go and see what is going on. Will write in here in a day or two. Until next time, dear Journal, God bless, and take care! Have a most blessed, wonderful Easter!

~Love, your friend in Tennessee, Louie May. :D
