This is Bill Sandusky. Happy Resurrection Sunday to you and yours; hope it was full of joy and untold blessings!
We had a great Easter celebration, both at church and here at home. Our Cantata is now history; it went surprisingly well other than a few glitches involving the sound equipment, plus Mack Monroe (he played Jesus in the production) ended up showing some of his assets when he had his robe tucked into his underwear.
At first we weren't aware of the situation, but when Jesus was "ascending" into Heaven after He'd come back to life, a lot of the audience saw that he was wearing red underwear. They started laughing, and once we saw why, we couldn't help but laugh ourselves.
I thought Pastor Bilkey was going to blow a gasket, but even he had a hard time trying to keep from laughing: you could see a grin threatening to burst through his lips.
The production went very well; the Message of the Easter Season apparently hit home: twelve people came to the altar after the production, where they accepted Christ. I guess you can say it was a very successful event, more than we had imagined.
After church, the family went to Golden Corral, where we had a wonderful lunch. Of course, the poor employees weren't expecting our group to come waltzing in when it was already busy, but they were gracious about it; they led us to the back section where the big parties are usually held, and we had a wonderful lunch.
We were at the Golden Corral for a good three hours, just enjoying each other's company--not to mention, some delicious buffet-style cookin'.
After Golden Corral, we went back home, where we had the Easter Egg Hunt for the kids. The hunt was successful: Arjun found the most eggs (seven), followed by Rani (five), and Ronee' and Johnny (three each). We tried to keep Emir from eating the plastic eggs or the shells from the dyed Easter eggs; he couldn't understand why we got upset or tried to get the broken shells from his mouth.
Well, I have my surgery on Thursday; it's official. I go into the hospital on Wednesday, and have the surgery the next day. I am not looking forward to it, but if it helps, it'll be worth it. I am sick of this pain, all this suffering. I am sick of having to use a wheelchair, a scooter, or walk on crutches all the time. I am missing out on so much with my kids because of the pain I'm in. (Just say a prayer for me; that is all I ask. Louie will keep you up to date on my surgery/recovery; stay tuned~)
I don't know how long I'll be in the hospital, probably just a few days at the most. I will then have at least six weeks or more of recovery time; I will be off work for that time. That's going to be so hard not getting any money coming in! With the Lord's help, however, we'll make it; somehow He always provides the money wehenever we need it the most!
The weather is chilly today; we even had snow yesterday, which caught all of us off guard. It may say it's April on the calendar, but it felt (and looked) more like Christmas! Crazy weather we are having! No wonder so many people keep on getting sick with the cold or flu!
I will be going now; am going to lie down. I am hurting again; it's making me a bit nauseasted. I will be glad when the surgery (not to mention the pain!) is overwith!! Take care, God bless you, and hope you had a very good Easter!
~Bill. :)

Great work, as usual.....I found it full of wit and love for his family. Keep up the great work!
Secondly, this journal entry is filled with humor, trepidation, and most of all, love: love in the form of a Savior, and in the care and concern a man has for his family.
I can only imagine "Jesus" ascending ...in the red! I believe our human foibles make the LORD and even His Father, laugh, too!
Our daughter, Shelley, has 5 children, and she and Frankie had an egg hunt planned for their children, too! Except, they were cooking at home this year! The first time Joe and I were ever in a Golden Corral, was back when they all lived in North Carolina, and Joe took us to see her and the grands. Quite an experience, and the food and service was excellent then, too! (Thank you for stirring that memory to the fore..)
Great write, as always..
Happy Resurrection Day, Karen!

Christmas - only days away; plastic snowmen and glowing reindeer adorn the lawns of neighborhoods all across America. All is calm, all is bright, and yet there is something tragically wrong about this Christmas night.
