Dear Journal~
Hey! Ronee' here. I hope this finds you well and/or happy!
I am doing okay. Daddy is in the hospital; he went in earlier today, and I already miss him. He is having back surgery tomorrow, as you already know. He is having long metal rods placed along his spinal column, to stabilize his back (and hopefully take care of some of the pain he's had). I pray all goes well; if something should happen, I guess that's the way the ball bounces, but I pray nothing will. I am trying to think of the best for daddy; if some of his pain can be alleviated, then it will be worth it in the end.
I have been doing a lot of soul searcching, especially since seeing my psychologist. She's really wonderful, and she makes me feel like a human being, not like a numnutz. Sometimes doctors have a way of making you feel like you don't know anything; I've had more than my share of those. Yet I have had other doctors who have been nothing short of wonderful (like my pediatrician, Dr. Emmons, for example, or my arthritis doctor, Dr. Hansen, as two examples). I also had a good doctor in my neurologist, Dr.Stryker. (I see him too from time to time, he wants to know how I have been doing.)
I got an A on my report. I did a report on the rights of the disabled and why I feel people with disabilities should be treated fairly and with respect. It's one of my passions; I am disabled, and I know a lot of the stigma attached to having a disability. Yet I don't let my disabilities rule ME. I'm not a disabled person; I'm a person who happens to have disabilities. Pure and simple.
Well, I have a boy at school who has been having designs on me. He keeps winkin' at me in math class, and I find it to be embarrassing. I told him I can't date until I'm at least sixteen; I have nearly two years to go yet. Oh, he's nice enough, but I don't know how to put up with his advances.
Guess I am growing up when a boy has taken notice of me.
I have been trying to defend a girl in my class who has been getting teased due to her weight. I feel sorry for her. She tries so hard to eat the right things, but she has problems trying to lose the weight. She has been heavy anyway, all her life, and her parents don't help.
I hear they treat her like she's a nobody; she has a really baad self esteem. The teasing doesn't help; it's enough to make me cry. Her name is Remie; she's quite nice (if a bit on the shy side). She's fairly new; she's been at our school since the beginning of January, and she has very few friends.
I am still palsy walsy with Nicole, but she is facing some major surgery herself in a month. She is having a total hip replacement, she is also having her knees replaced (AGAIN). She is understandably scared, but I told her things should go well, don't worry. I told her I'd keep her in my prayers; that seemed to comfort her a little.
I have been watching Amrican Idol, but haven't enjoyed it as much. There's some pepole on there (Sanjaya, for example) who can't sing worth a lick, yet they are still in the game. WHY?? Crazy; doesn't make ANY sense whatsoever! Well, at least the one I like (LaKeisha) is still in the game; hopefully she'll stay in the hunt. She's probably my favorite of the contestants this year. She's really good.
Another show I like ("America's Got Talent") is coming back this year; but Regis is no longer the host. Jerry Springer who has a trashy talk show on the CW network is the new host. ICK. I think the people at NBC could have picked a more desirable host; Jerry Springer is not the type who should be hosting the show! Just my personal op, is all. He may end up doing a good job, but personally, I prefer Regis. He's more of a gentleman; Jerry Springer is too----weird.
I may try out again for "AGT" when it comes to Nashville, I don't know. I think it would be fun to try again. If I don't make it, oh, well.
Oh, whew! LaKeisha's safe. Good! I can breathe now....*grins*
WHAAAAAAAAA?? You mean Sanjaya's SAFE?? WHY?? The boy canNOT sing!! Crazyness, that's what it is: pure-T crazyness!!
Well, I am going to go now; time to go to bed. Have school tomorrow; need to get my "beauty sleep". LOL On that note, good night, schweetheart! LOL (Can you tell I'm in a weird mood? That's what happens when I get sleepy! LOL)
~Luv, your gal pal, Ronee' Le-Anne. :D
P.S.: Will let you know how daddy did next time; stay tuned~ Hopefully it'll be good news! :)
I enjoyed this journal entry, Karen. Much happening in Ronee's life. My humble advice to the girl who's being teased because of her weight: Have confidence. God did not make a mistake when He created you. You're beautiful to Him just as you are...and that is all that matters. The ones who tease you are the ones who should be pitied for their low self-esteem.
To Ronee, I say continue to be strong for self, family, and friends. Sixteen is not a bad age to start dating...but don't cross that barrier...you know what I mean! Self respect is important, always. Okay, I've said enough! :)
I love Ronee's Rumblings; I love Ronee; I love you. :) Well done--she covers all emotions, from happy to sad, with grace and aplomb, with a maturity beyond her years. BRAVA!
