Bill is improving steadily from his surgery he had the other day. As you can imagine, she is estatic, but she had to help in the waiting room when a woman unexpectedly had a seizure while she was waiting to see him for visiting hours.

Dear Journal~
I know I just wrote yesteday, but things are going well for my hubby, who is currently in the hospital, where he is recoveing from a successful back surgery. He is now awake, and he even ate a little today. He isn't in much pain (of course, the nurses have him on heavy pain meds via I.V.), and he was in a pretty good mood; he is ready to go home! LOL (He will probably be discharged within the next few days, according to Dr. Stryker, his doctor.)
I couldn't be more pleased than I am right now. God is indeed working miracles in our lives. (Hope and pray it continues! :) )
Well, earlier today, there was some excitement in the waiting room, while I was waiting for visiting hours to start back up: a woman sitting a few couches away from me suddenly went into a tonic-clonic (also known as a grand mal) seizure. My nursing instincts immediately kicked into high gear.
When I saw her start to shake uncontrollably, I ran over and I had someone help me lay her onto the ground, where we stayed with her until the seizure abated several minutes later. I had a doctor bring a wheelchair that we could put the woman into while he could take her to the ER for a checkup, to make sure that she was to be okay.
The seizing woman scared quite a few people; I could understand their fears because epilepsy is often a misunderstood disease; not many people are aware of it until they see someone has a seizure. I also know of epilepsy because I happen to suffer from it myself. I have seizures, but they are luckily under control, as I take anticonvulsant medications. I take my medications every day, or else I would have seizures, too, just like this woman did earlier today.
Just to let you know: I haven't had a seizure in over 10 years now, thanks to my medication. That's why I have been able to drive and work. As I said, I have been blessed, very blessed. I know my Lord is taking care of me. :)
There is more news from my friends Kendra and Naomi: Kendra Kent and her family are moving to Modesto within a month to a bigger house, and Naomi Cohen and her family are moving to a bigger place as well (also to Modesto). Things are going well for them, and Kendra is adopting a new set of twins from Louisiana who were victims of Hurricane Katrina. She just took in a pair of twins, both girls, from Africa, who are seven years of age.
Rebekkah is being released from the hospital for good: her doctor says she will continue her therapy, but this time as an outpatient. It is incredible of the miracles that God is doing in this young girl's life and in the lives of her family! God is indeed good! :)
We are due for some weather tomorrow: maybe even the threat of severe weather, including the possibility of tornadoes. Lord, I hope not; I don't do severe weather very well, especially if there are tornadoes afoot! Tornadoes are unpredictable; you don't know what they are going to do, and they can be very deadly if people don't take the appropriate shelter from the storm!
Right now, though, it is a beautiful early spring night: clear and star-filled skies, with cool breezes, absolutely no hint of what may come tomorrow. I guess we will have our ears glued to Johnny's weather radio, so we can stay ahead of the storm and know what is going on!
Well, this isn't much I know, but at least I kept y'all up to date regarding Bill's surgery and how he is doing post surgery. I also wanted to let you know about the Kent and Cohen families, to let you know that there are big changes occuring in their lives. I have a hunch that there'll be big changes in our world as well; it always happens whenever we least expect it. Take care, dear Journal, and God bless!
