Johnny writes in his journal after a period of being sick. He is feeling much better now.

Thursday, April 26, 2007, 9:31 p.m., D.S.T., Nashville, Tennessee~

Dear Journal~

Johnny here. I am sorry for not writing in here sooner, but I was sick for the past week and a half. I wasn't in the hospital, but I was still plenty sick enough. I thought one night that maman was going to have to call an ambulance on me. I was having a lot of difficulty breathing, but once maman turned up my oxygen tank and kept an eye on me, I did a lot better. I haven't had a problem since (knock on wood!).

I hope I don't. I have had enough of being sick for a while! I hope I don't become sick for a very long time to come! I have had enough of hospitals (and doctors) to last me the rest of my life!!

Well, my new little brother is here; he came here last week from Finland. He is cute and all, but he is a pain. All he does is sit on the floor and scream like he is getting killed. It's enough to make me want to take out my hearing aids because when he (Bjorn) screams, they squeal terribly; and it hurts my ears! Yet maman is patient with him; but as for me, I want to kill him! (Not really, but you know what I mean...)

Today maman heard from a woman in Hawai'i. I couldn't read her letter; she wrote in light green, and to me it was like looking at a blank page. I hope maman didn't have any trouble reading the woman's letter because I sure did! I couldn't get past the first few words! LOL Maman is on her computer; she is probably working on her new book or writing to the woman in Hawai'i. She spends a lot of time on the computer in the evening after she makes sure we get ready for bed and tells us goodnight.

This is when she does the majority of her writing; otherwise she's busy working or raising us! LOL

I watched "Amreican Idol" last night; it was good. The six singers are still in the running for the top prize; surprisingly enough, nobody got eliminated, which is what usually happens. At least that stupid Sanjaya Malakar guy is gone; he was awful! I don't know why he hung around for so long as he did; he was terrible!

They also had an appeal for poor children here in the United States and in Africa. Some of the stories I saw were heartbeaking. I don't know why more isn't being done to help the poor in Africa or here. Shame. Seems like the poor get poorer while the rich only get richer.

(I wish that the rich people could live like a poor person; maybe then they'd help the poor more and stop being so self-centered or selfish! The rich ought to do this for a year; it'd change their minds in a hurry!)

In a few weeks, no, in fact, next week, we are going to Louisiana. We are going to the Breaux Bridge Crawfish Festival in tiny Breaux Bridge, which is near Lafayette. We go every year, and we always have a good time. I am performing there this year, and so is Ronee'; we are both opening up for Belton Richard, who is one of the premier Cajun music legends. He does traditional Cajun music, and he plays the French accordion. He sings very well for an old guy, and his band, "The Musical Aces", is top notch. I really like Belton Richard, but not like Ronee'. She says that he is her favorite. (I believe it too; she has all his CD's, and she plays them a lot.)

We are going to Fan Fair in June, we have been invited to perform there, too. Some of the people who are scheduled to be there include Rascal Flatts, Loretta Lynn, Reba McEntire, Keith Urrrrban (I don't like him that much! LOL), Ronnie Milsap, Carrie Underwood (the "American Idol" from nearly two years ago), Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, Martina McBride, and Taylor Ware (from "America's Got Talent"; she's a twelve-year-old yodeling champion from Tennessee), among many others. We can't wait to go to Fan Fair; it's always a lot of fun! :)

So we have two big things to look forward to. My life won't be so boring in a few weeks; I'll actually get to do something exciting besides watching the lint gather on my clothes or drum my fingers on the armrests of my chair! LOL

I haven't heard from Rebekkah; hope she is okay...will have to write to her to see how she is faring. Hopefully she's doing well; she's had a rough patch of it too lately when it comes to her health! I'll let you know how she is doing; stay tuned~

The weather is nice now; we did have some severe storms earlier; no tornadoes here, but there were tornado funnels sighted; the sirens went off, scaring maman (and Ronee' and the littler kids) halfway to death. I wanted to stay upstairs and watch the storm from my bedroom, but maman grabbed me and hauled me down to the saferoom. I was mad at her for doing that; she always manages to ruin my fun! I am a weather nut; I HAVE to know what's going on or see what it's going to do! But nooooooooooooo..I couldn't watch the weather action. I was stuck with my family in the stupid saferoom! GRRRR!

Well, gang, I am going to go now. I am getting sleepy all of a sudden; my meds are starting to kick me in the tail. I will write in here another day. Until next time, this is Johnny saying "Good night; don't let the bedbugs bite!" Bye for now!

~Love, your pal, Johnn-o. :D

What a great entry...enjoyed the line about the rich living like the poor. I think many times that there are those that are born into wealth that have no idea how that are less fortunate live, and those that have forgotten where they may have come from. Great write. Love this character!
