Sikik Eegeesiak in Alaska posts her second entry in her brand new journal.

Sunday, April 29, 2007, Alaska time, Barrow, Alaska~

Dear Journal~

This is Sikik Grace Eegeesiak again. I hope you don't mind hearing from me again, but I guess that is what you are for: to be written in.

Today is a snowy, cold day, temps in the 20's, lows in the single digits to teens. I am holed up in the house; can't go nowhere; it's snowing too hard, for one thing, really nasty out. The winds are strong; the wind chills are horrendous at best. No, the weather isn't fit for man OR beast; it's best to stay inside (and hope the wind doesn't knock the power out).

I am feeling rather sad today: Jenny and I got into an argument voer something stupid. I don't remmber what it was about now, but now Jenny is really mad at me, not talking.  I feel more alone than ever.

I wish I had someone special in my life other than Louisiana Sandusky. She lives too far away; besides, she's busy with her fmily to be bothered with the likes of me; she's a Dog Child,; they believe differently than I do. I still don't understand about salvation or just who this Jesus Christ person is. He is totally foreign to me...we Native Inuit rely more on the natural side of things; the Spirits are in all living things, be they man, animal, or objects like flowers, trees, even the sky or the stars.

I am feeling poorly today: my MS is acting up, as well as my fibromyalgia.  Very depressing to be in this much pain; it is enough to drive me mad! I wish I had some medication to give me some relief! I couldn't use my crutches today; shoulders and hands hurt too bad, and my legs--oh, they hurt. They feel like someone's stabbing them with an ice pick...it's awful!

I am going to talk to my doctor tomorrow, to see if he can give me something more than Demarol (spelling?); it just isn't helping with my pain. I am tired of living like this; it's getting so bad I'm surprised I am not thinking of killing myself just so I can get some relief!

The northern lights are out; they are in a friendly mood today: pinks, greens, aquas, blues, purples, really pretty to see. When I see Aurora's Dance, I feel happy: I feel the presence of my ancestors, my mom and dad, my grandparents, surrounding me, and it makes me feel good. I wish I could join Aurora's Dance and dance in the nighttime sky; that would really be something!

Today I went to downtown Barrow, went shopping; didn't get much other than groceries. My neighbor Tatuq took me. Tatuq Umiak lives a few houses down, and he is very nice, quite a bit younger than me (he could almost be my son, he's so young!), but still--a very sweet young man. He's always doing things for me if my family isn't. My family and my friends take care of me.

Well, this isn't much, but I am going to lie down. My back is also hurting, and everytime I move, it feels like it's going to break in two. It's making me nauseaous. I will write in here again; until later, goodbye for now!
