Dear Journal~
Hi~ Johnny here. I am having FUN at the Breaux Bridge Crawfish Festival!
We got here a few days ago, and we arrived safe and sound. We are in tiny Breaux Bridge, Louisiana, and the place is crawling with crawfish afficianados or fans of Cajun/zydeco music. There's plenty of that to go around: people like Belton Richard (who I am performing with tonight; can't wait!), Jamie Berzas, Hunter Hayes, Rosie Ledette, "BeauSoleil", and others are scheduled to perform. Even my sister Ronee' Reaux and her band "Cajun Spice" are performing (at three in the afternoon, which is a half hour away from now).
There's plenty of room for dancing; the area nearest the stages are crowded with dancers of all ages: from the very young to the very old, even those in wheelchairs (like me); the Cajun music gets all of us groovin'! :) Nobody can keep their feet still to all that wonderful Cajun beat! :)
The weather here is nice: sunny, a little on the warm side, somewhat humid. I have my sunscreen on; have to wear it or I'll end up lookin' like a crawfish, and they may end up cookin' ME! LOL (I burn easily; don't tan, which drives me nuts!)
I have seen lots of cute Cajun girls here around my age, and they keep lookin' at me. Don't know if they are looking at my chair or at ME. (Hope it's the latter!) I wouldn't be surprised if one of them asks me to dance!
Daddy and maman are dancing; I can see them from time to time swirling in a Cajun waltz. Daddy's on crutches, but that doesn't stop him. He's dancing (carefully, though; he is recovering from back surgery), and it's nice to see him smiling for once. Maman is smiling (but then she ALWAYS does!). (MOST of the time.) It's nice to see them having fun, not worrying about "things". They need to have fun; get away from us kids!
I am sitting by the one stage, listening to Jamie Berzas and "Cajun Tradition" (I THINK that's the name of the band!) playing. They're quite good; never heard of them, but I like their music; may end up buying one of their CD's. Ronee' is in the backstage pit, no doubt getting ready for her performance. I hope she does a good job; people seem to like her when she performs. (I know I do, but I get jealous of her sometimes.)
(Dang. Have to get new glasses; nearly put "Ronee' is in the BARBEQUE pit"! YUCK. Fried Cajun! LOL Not good! Boy, I really need to be careful when I'm typing; my fingers get ahead of my brain; I sometimes end up putting the wrong thing down! LOL)
Well, gonna' go; gotta' get a good seat to watch sis do her "Cajun thang". Don't want to miss it! I also have to pork out on some grub and practice for MY performance tonight; see ya!

Bonjour! Such a happy festive journal entry. Johnny sure is one excited young man! I bet he does right fine and yes, it's nice to read Mamman and Dad are having a good time! Enjoyed this write alot! Bon soir, Johnny!!!
