I did it when all said I couldn't, and kept going!
I've said this before but I began writing at the age of 11. The first piece I wrote was about a little boy who was put in the wrong part of Heaven and these "bad guys" were after him at one point or another. I asked my mother to read it cause I didn't know it was any good. She took it and set it aside. The next day, I asked her if she had read it, she said no and gave me something she had started writing, her own story which she never finished. I lost that story since then but I didn't lose the dream. My mother started telling me I would never get published and that I need to let go of this silly dream. As I got older, she would tell me I needed to get a real job and stop fantasizing about being published cause there were so many people out there who were better. She also said I couldn't make a living at it. There are authors who have and someday (not right now)I hope to have enough books selling that I can be one of those writers too. I have one book published and another one coming out yet I still don't have any support from my family. My success is coming from my heart, my husband, and my close friends who did and still do believe in me. Those are the people that push me to improve myself as a writer and make it all worth while at the end. They made my success worth having at all!
I never gave up and I tell people to not give up too cause all things are possible, we just have to believe. It doesn't matter if others believe in us or not, we have to believe in ourselves and pursue our dreams. It will happen for you just like it happened to me. It took me a while cause I didn't know what I was doing but was still able to get there because I kept trying. I'm still going too. I refuse to let mu family win cause I know I have a talent for telling stories. My talent continues to grow as does my writing skills. This is something that I was meant to be and I refuse to let anyone tell me other wise. You do the same thing just make sure you do have a job to pay those bills lol. Thank you!
