Dear Journal~
Well, gang, today finds me (and daughter, Ronee') in Hollywood, California. Now you may be wondering what may be going on here. Well, Ronee' has her audition for "America's Got Talent" tomorrow evening, and depending on how well she does, she may get on the show. She auditioned in Nashville, Tennessee (our home, where we live), and the people were impressed, so they flew us out here, so she could audition for the show's three judges (not to mention the new host [Jerry Springer of talk show fame]).
During the program, Ronee' will be playing her (French) accordion and singing the Cajun standby, "Jambalaya (On The Bayou)". She was originally going to sing "Coal Miner's Daughter" by Loretta Lynn, but she opted for the Cajun flavor instead; Cajun music is what she is known for, what she's best at, where she really shines. Of course, she is nervous, but I keep telling her not to worry, that all she can do is try her best, give it her all, and even if she doesn't do well, we would still be proud of her.
The weather is sunny out, and warm, temps in the 80's, really pretty out. The atmosphere is decidedly different than back home in Tennessee, but we might as well make the best of it, try to get our minds at ease, try to quell the butterflies dancing the Cajun two-step in our bellies. *grins*
Ronee' and I watched the program last night after it premiered; it's the second season for the hit talent reality program) after we settled in our hotel room, and Ronee' got really nervous. See, there's this one judge from Britain (Piers Morgan) who can be caustic in his opinions of the acts, and it is obvious he is not a fan of most kid acts. He can offer some really biting commentary, and he has been known to reduce contestants (kids as well as adults) to mere tears. Ronee' is scared that he will say some mean things about her, and she is worried how she will take what he has to say to her. She is also nervous about David Hasselhoff and what he will have to say as well; he can be caustic, too (but not nearly as bad as Piers).
Let's just say Piers Morgan makes fellow British judge Simon Cowell (from "American Idol") look like a purring pussycat! LOL
I talked to Bill last night; he said Kendra called him to tell him that Missy, her daughter, has had her cancer come back. Of course, both Kendra and Missy are highly upset. At the news, I cried, and I immediately started praying. I will have to add Missy Kent's name to our prayer list when I call our church in the next few days, to have our prayer team lift the Kents up in prayer during this difficult time in their lives.
Bill and the children already miss Ronee' and myself; they say the house is too quiet. Bill also says that my little Pomeranian dog, "Cajun Gold", keeps walking all over, whining pitifully, wondering if "Mama" (me) has left her for good. He says that she kept the family up half the night with her crying.
I did get some good news concerning Johnny and his MRI test: they canceled the MRI because the MRI is broken. (NICE.) Johnny is of course, happy to hear that: he is rather claustrophobic, and the MRI is always a big ordeal for him. Whenever he has to have an MRI done, they have to knock him out for the procedure; otherwise, he'd panic, try to rip the machine apart! LOL I feel so sorry for Johnny whenever he has to have an MRI done!
I guess that means that Johnny must be doing better than we originally thought. He is holding his own. That is good news right there; it's like his disease is in remission (it isn't, not really), because he hasn't had any real new or troubling symptoms. Maybe he could do something exciting this summer; let's hope so: the poor boy is in a perpetual state of boredom, and he is more than ready for some good news or excitement to happen in his life! :)
I and Ronee' are going to eat some breakfast now; our stomachs are reallllly talking. I will write in here again in a day or so, to let y'all know how Ronee' 's audition for "AGT" went. Hopefully there'll be good news. If she gets in, she will automatically advance to the semi-finals, and will have to go to Las Vegas, Nevada, in August for that. This may not be the last audtion for her. Just pray all goes well for her (and for me, her worried mama!). God bless, and talk to you again soon!

Looking forward to hearing how Ronnee does at the audition. I think she should just rise above any negative comments given to her. If Ronee believes in herself she will be just fine! Another great write. Oh, glad Johnny was spared the MRI!
