Dear Journal~
Ronee' and I made it back safely back home from Hollywood, California. We had a wonderful time; it is good to be back home, where we belong. Ronee' is relieved that the audition is behind her. She was nervous, but right when it counted, she delivered the goods in a big way.
Ronee' tried out for the show "America's Got Talent", and she made it!! This means that she is going to be going to Las Vegas, Nevada, for the semi-finals, which will be in August. She wowed the judges, and the audience loved her. I was very proud of her; Ronee' did a great job!
I am back at work: my co-workers were all so happy to see me. They wanted to hear all about Ronee', but I was more interested in seeing how my patients wree doing--as well as getting to know the new admits. Included in this group was a woman originally from South Africa who was admitted to the hospital for osteomyelitis (bone infection). She must not weigh 100 pounds she is so thin, and she is easily over 6 1/2 feet tall. She is very beautiful; she looks like she could be a model. Her name is Thina (pronounced Tee-nah) Mwange (pronounced Mwahn-gay).
The man that was in our hospital for liver failure has died. He died yesterday. There is a definite mood of sadness amongst my nurses working here in the Medical ICU this morning; my heart goes out to them (as well as to the dead man's family).
Oh, boy, you should have seen the family when we got back home: kids hanging all over me like leeches, husband planting huge kisses upon my lips, parents crying with joy, my tiny 4-pound puppy barking/leaping excitedly, dancing circles on her little hind legs. She was so happy to see her mamma, yes she was! :)
Speaking of Pomeranians, the one judge on "America's Got Talent" (Sharon Osborne, who is the manager/wife of rocker legend Ozzy) has a little Pomeranian (I don't know the dog's name), but seeing the little dog made me tear up; I started missing my little girl, "Cajun Gold". Sharon's dog was adorable; it was cute seieng her sit with the judges. (I hear that she didn't take to Piers Morgan too kindly. LOL)
The weather is warm here in Tennessee: temperatures in the 80's, patchy skies, actually quite pleasant. Yet I sit at a computer here at work (or I'm busy taking care of patients) while hubby entertains a whole housefull of kids! LOL (He's off today from Wal*Mart, then works from tomorrow through Satuerday, off Sunday for Father's Day, then works five days in a row--Monday through Friday.)
Sunday is Father's Day; we are taking Dear Old Dad (as well as my own father) out to eat after church services. We are taking them to Fire Mountain and Centennial Park, where there will be activities for the dads in attendance; should be a wonferful time! (I only hope the weather holds out!)
Well, gang, I'm being paged to Thina's room, so I'll go now. She is due to go to surgery to drain the infections in her leg. Take care, and God bless! I'll write in here again soon!
Glad to hear of the success in the talent show, and I sure do have a lot of respect for nurses everywhere. The stress of living with life and death on a daily basis is a hard way to live.
The familiar lament of dual-career parents raising children is, "I just can't do it all." The Libra Solution provides an alternative - a more satisfying and sustainable work and life approach - to the overwrought modern day norm.
